Cowboys @ Giants Game Day Open Thread III

Okay, I'm as disgusted as you are about what's going on. The Cowboys are embarrassing themselves. But please, do us a favor, don't foul the blog with profanity or classless comments. This is when you have to take the the bad with a sense of decorum. Sure, express your anger, but just keep it clean. You'll be doing us a big favor and we won't have to spend tomorrow banning or suspending people.

Cowboys @ Giants

This is an open thread for game chat.

haven’t we seen this movie every final game of the year?

You're only remembering one game

The defense held the Saints and Eagles twice during December.

My commet was this is how every final game of the season ends

The O-line falls apart and the defense can’t play defense.

Every final game of the year. Every year.

When we get into must-win situations the O-line and defense falls apart.

So many puzzles.

Why is there no pressure on Eli? Why do there never seem to be open receivers for Tony, but the NY wideouts are open so often? And why can’t the Cowboys capitalize on the miscues by the Giants.

I don't know

Robinson was wide open on a sack a couple drives ago, Giants were in what looked like cover two.

Thats just one play, but my guess is

1. Oline played like crap early, has Romo rattled. No run game puts it on his shoulders.
2. Romo isn’t taking risks, he doesn’t look comfortable with that hand

Its impossible to tell whats up with the wrs since they don’t show the coaches cam

by foyesboys on Jan 1, 2012 9:07 PM CST up reply actions

pretty simple, we suck and have some cancerous behavior in the locker room that allows the loser mentality because they dont want accountability for when they mess up or cant carry the load they are supposed to

Why do there never seem to be open receivers for Tony, but the NY wideouts are open so often?

2nd half.

The pluses we have:
1. Romo hand seems ok
2. The O’line seems to be improving. Well, it could not get worse.
3. Kick deep. Get a stop.
4. Score.

Games can turn strangely. Some Cowboys momentum from ANYWHERE and we’ll see. Teams tighten up when the game starts to turn. Hold out some hope. This offense is one of the best. If the O-line can hold.

last year they basically let Bowen go and took Ball out the starting spot

besides Elam and Coleman(who both played for the Cowboys already) there wasnt much turnover from the 2010 defense and the guys were pretty familiar with the team

this year:

Elam or Sensebaugh
Oldman
Bradie
Brooking
Spencer
Hatcher or Coleman

all need to be upgraded. i’m just thinking if they didnt give Scandrick and Gerald money and just signed Weddle or Nmandi how much better our defense would look

this year though they should shore up the front 7 and hope Bruce, Jenkins, and Scandrick can do enough with a dominant pass rush to compliment

We like drafting 2nd round picks that don't play the first year.

It’s a JJ thing. Hopefully he can be as good as Lee.

But our second round pick seems to always be an injured guy.

That’s not normal. JJ sees this as a medical value pick.

2nd round. WTF.

Can we get one that contribute the first year.

Look. Don't blame this on Romo...yet.

He’s 15 of 17. If there is a single problem, it’s that T New is having a bad game. Hurdled twice, beaten repeatedly by Cruz (who, despite what Newman apparently believes, is definitely faster than he). Just scored, btw…

Also, not a big fan of Ryan’s complicated defense right now. Keep it simple. That’s your job running down the field & wearing #80.
