I HATE that playcall

Its like you’re totally ignoring the strengths of your team.

Your qb is 6’1 and mobile and your interior OL gets no push

thing is our o-line is not more physical than their d-line

so that wasn’t the smartest play but eh just one more possession closer to having Jenkins play both CB spots

That's why it wasn't a good call.

You and me both. There are some really good ILB prospects in this upcoming draft

Better than last years prospects but Jerry thought he was getting a deal and getting one over on everyone else. Getting a 1st round player in the 2nd round. Jerry being cute again at the expense of the team

It's hard to really know who's decision it was but it certainly seems like a Jerry move.

Can’t imagine Garrett wanting the injured project LB over a quality starting C especially as Garrett was gutting the old Oline asap.

by Luke. on Jan 1, 2012 11:24 PM CST up reply actions

I know. It's like they have to talk him into a smart pick in the 1st round and in doing so they have to "give" him a 2nd round pick to play with

Like a child or something. Remember when they drafted Bennett in the 2nd round?? Jerry said they had to hold him back to keep him from moving up in the round to get him. He wanted him that bad

Honestly what’s the most memorable thing Romo has done for this team? Throw a hail mary out of bounds? Fumble a fg snap in the playoffs and costing his team the game? Choking multpile times, giving up 30 point leads by throwing three interceptions in the 4th quarter? He sucks.

Well I did think this was an 8-8 team b4...

…the season started. Keep improving by two games per season and we’ll be in great shape by 2013.

And NBC spare me the giants praise. They just beat an 8-8 team to win the division at 9-7.
They’re not peaking at the right time at all.

The NFC East has won 11 Super Bowls; oddly none of those have come courtesy of the Eagles.

Completely flawed team and premise. You get swagger from winning games which comes from practicing and playing hard.

You don’t feign swagger and tell everybody you got it like it is some gaudy pimp suit to be worn by trash.

Trashy organization, with misplaced priorities and misunderstanding of confidence and what it is and how you get it…they are lost until this element of their organization is changed. MY biggest worry is that it is endemic and simply part of the current DNA.

That's about it.

I’m not angry, I’m certainly not turning in my fan card, but I’m pretty crushed. We have a rebuilding team. Maybe we’re not ahead of schedule, but at worst we’re pretty much right where we should be. It hurts. A lot. But we’ll get better. We’ve got a lot of pieces in place, especially on offense. If we can piece together a smart draft, maybe a solid, cheap FA pickup or two, we’ll keep building next year. Having some extra coaching and a full offseason for our younger guys will undoubtedly help, too. All you can say right now.

It's not gotten its fair share of talent

For several years now. The best players are past their prime, and because of the lack of talent the defense is springing holes everywhere outside of Ware and Lee.

We’ve gone heavily with offense in the draft the last few years. If a team does that, they need to win a lot of 38-34 games, because the defense won’t be able to keep up.

I swear to God, this Romo bashing is some of the most uneducated football talk I've ever heard

This season is NOT on Romo. He stepped up and showed up repeatedly throughout the season, and people are talking like Detroit happened every week. The fact is, he showed up and his team let him down. Not the other way around.

I don't mind blaming the team

by me gusta on Jan 1, 2012 10:39 PM CST via mobile up reply actions   2 recs

The problem is that Romo's the only player with a record

When you hear about the December and January records it’s Romo’s record. It’s not Ware’s or Ratliffs but it should be just as much theirs and anyone’s. Instead Ware’s stats are thrown up to show how great he is and how he’s doing all he can do for this team and Romo’s stats are just garbage time numbers that don’t mean anything compared to the “record”.

No, you educate all of us

Please tell us, wise one, how Romo is at fault when he gave the team a twelve point lead and it was lost in less than five minutes, then led them to field goal range and the field goal was blocked. Or how it’s totally his fault for turning into a sieve on defense in the second half for the second part of the season. This 8-8 season is on THE TEAM. Not Romo.

Romo is the QB, his play led us to 8-8 and no playoffs again.

Agree Ham,hate the haters

Yes this team has problems, but the difference between teams in this league is very small. Yeah the interior OL sucks, the DBs don’t make plays, but every team has problems, so get over it. If you do a couple of things different, things go different. Three plays in this game, the punt fumble that wasn’t recovered, the Romo miss to Dez on the first drive, and if Scandrick sees the ball on the prayer to Cruz. 21 point difference if those things happen.

You are so much smarter than the rest of us because you realized that this tema was destined to lose. All hail the Mensa. It is easy to hate.

Correct.

The Giants swept us and won the title, period. I’d feel worse about this if I thought the Cowboys had earned it.

Look, all we can do now is look to the draft, look to free agency, look to coaching and personnel changes. Maybe an owner change? Jerry’s done a lot for this team, and he has made some huge mistakes as well. But it’s time for a fearless inventory of the team. I’m personally not convinced that Rex Ryan and Terrence Newman should survive it.

Of the two, only TNew’s departure would make me feel bad. Ryan is a loudmouth who can’t back it up. That’s minus 2 for him in my book.

If they franchise him as an OLB, Mario will get pissed since he’s really a DE and they make a lot more $$$. The Texans need to pay Foster and are already near the cap. 8-8 is a fail

Because

1) This team got worse over the course of the season (1-4 in their last 5 against mediocre competition)
2) This team had great QB play and squandered it
3) Whatever discipline was instilled after Wade’s firing was gone this year
4) This team went 2-4 in division, 0-4 against the mediocre Giants and Eagles
5) This team failed to even put up a fight in a game against a division rival with a playoff appearance on the line

They don’t go into it with a plan, they just take a collection of players that they grade out as the “best player available” (their grades are usually wrong) and end up with a conglomerate of crap they don’t need.
