Hudson gone...FINALLY
Seems like Hudson was asked to leave the Cowboys, I know he's a very well respected coach but the o-line was a joke. Enjoy retirement....good riddance. I believe most people on this board thought I was an idiot for suggesting he was a problem.
Bottom line is that the Cowboys demise in important games is due to poor o-line play. I remember watching that VIkings game...
Bring on some fresh young faces into the coaching staff...get a good prospect in the draft and lets get this thing going.

and while most of us thought Hudson was ready to go out because he doesn’t really like grooming young players, but we’re not going to say “good riddance.” He coached the o-line in the 90s and never, to our knowledge, caused any problems. Let him retire with grace.

The man retired
No one knows whether or not he was asked to leave, so lets quit speculating. And have a little respect, I mean, the guy was the O-line coach for one of the best O-line’s ever assembled in the 90’s.
Houck spent the next nine years coaching the offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys. At times during Houck’s tenure the Cowboys’ line was one of the most dominant in the history of the game. The 203 sacks they allowed in nine years under Houck were the fewest of any NFL team in that span. Six offensive linemen earned 22 trips to the Pro Bowl under Houck, including Larry Allen (7), Nate Newton (5), Erik Williams (4), Ray Donaldson (2), Mark Stepnoski (2) and Mark Tuinei (2). Future Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith earned a pair of rushing titles during Houck’s tenure, and rushed for over 1,000 yards every season. Houck was also the assistant head coach from 1994 to 1997.
He’s also done a pretty good job with Tyron Smith, all we heard about him is that he had the most talent and potential, but it would take a few years before we saw it, because he was only 20 years old. Houck was able to get him started immediately on the road to becoming, potentially, one of the best tackles in the league.
Hudson didn’t really have much to work with the past couple years, so before you start blaming all the problems on him, do your research, and know that Hudson will be remembered as one of the better O-line coaches the NFL has seen.
"I still feel like I have something to offer, and the cynical fan can really kiss my ass. I really don’t care. There’s a bunch of true fans and the people who actually want to take the time to get to know me know who I am. The guy who sits in his mom’s basement and types on his mom’s computer, I couldn’t really care less about." - Chipper Jones
Well unlike the others

Jerry thanks you for ignoring the obvious..
Players who suck can’t be coached. Dufus Wade Phillips looked like a guy who couldn’t coach in Dallas but did pretty damn well in Houston. It’s amazing how well a coach does when he has a quality player.
HH looked like a great coach with Tyron Smith but how does anyone coach a Phil Costa? I wonder if HH was asked his opinion on dumping Andre Gurode and keeping Costa? No way in hell would be my guess..
