Around SBN: Eden Hazard In London For Medical, According To Reports

Spending a good chunk of cash on free agent to be Carl Nicks would open up a world of possibilities for the Cowboys in the draft. To me, there would be no need to draft a guard at all with the addition of Carl Nicks.

I think 7 years $65M would be a fair offer for him. He’s the one big FA that I would really like to team to go after.

After that signing a CB would be next priority and Brent Grimes should be available.

Probably can’t sign both but either would upgrade a position of need.

If I really had my choice

I would probably vote to draft DeCastro so that we can still sign a couple of free agent cb’s. We need more than one in my opinion. But i wouldn’t be upset if they signed Nicks. They are going to have competition for his services. No doubt the Skins will be in the mix. The Saints could still franchise him if they get something worked out with Brees. But it seems it would be hard for them to sink all that cash into Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks.

We're here to win football games. The way to do that is to tell him and to get on him at the right times. I do that when you guys (media) don't see and watch.''

What else makes a strong leader?

"You win,'' Romo said. "You're a very good leader once you win.

"That's' what we're going to do.''

yup lets do the opposite of what we normally do.

Lets draft for offense (DeCastro) and sign FAs for Defense. The exact opposite of what this team has been doing.

Don’t forget they also have Colston as a FA. There’s no way all 3 come back and it’s likely that Colston and Nicks both leave.

I agree on the CB thing too. We probably need 3 new CB’s this offseason. Not sure we need to sign 2 of them, but we need to come out of FA and the draft with at least 3. I would say sign a quality starter and draft another in the 2nd round and another high upside guy in the mid rounds.

Jahri Evans just signed a 7 year $56.7M dollar deal…and you want to offer Nicks almost $10M MORE? I want Nicks more than anyone, but I think a deal similar to Evans is more like it

"I still feel like I have something to offer, and the cynical fan can really kiss my ass. I really don’t care. There’s a bunch of true fans and the people who actually want to take the time to get to know me know who I am. The guy who sits in his mom’s basement and types on his mom’s computer, I couldn’t really care less about." - Chipper Jones

Couple reasons why

1. Evans signed his deal in May 2010. There will be almost 2 years between Evans’ signing and Nicks’ signing.

2. I believe Nicks is the better player of the two.

3. Evans signed his deal to stay with a team while Nicks will be on the open market with many suitors which will drive his price up.

If we were to hand out

a big time free agent contract to yet another guard, at least this one would be young (and talented). I’d probably be on board if the price were right.
