If that happens I wouldn't complain
"The tone is business," Garrett said. "Let's get to work. The Giants are going to be at the Meadowlands on Sunday at 4:15. They're an awfully good football team. We have to get ready for them."
I hear we a due a 4th rounder compensatory pick for losing Bowen
They do it by size of the contract, so thank the redskins for overpaying him :)
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle, victorious." –Vince Lombardi
Our hands down best receiver, some scrubs, FOUR of our own draft choices
For a first and second round choice?
I’d take Valley Ranch by storm if it ever happened. That’s a terribly one-sided trade.
not enough
agree that a 1st & 2nd are not enough for Miles. especially since they are playoff picks. trading away Miles I’m not opposed to for the right deal.

Remember its not a 1 and 2. They get our 2 and we get theirs… which is worse… and they get spears and three more of our picks. This is literally the dumbest trade I’ve ever heard of.

you are giving too much value to Spears
Spears is an improved version of Igor.
Spears got ONE SACK this year.

New York Jets
On April 11, 2010, Holmes was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.7 (The Steelers eventually traded the pick to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a sixth round pick and reacquiring Bryant McFadden.
Baltimore Ravens
On March 5, 2010 Boldin was traded to the Baltimore Ravens for the Ravens third, fourth and fifth round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft. Boldin agreed to a three-year deal worth $25 million, in addition to the one year he had left on his then-current deal, bringing the total deal to $28 million over 4 years, with $10 million guaranteed.8 On September 26 2010, against the Cleveland Browns, in a game where he caught 8 passes for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns, he became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 600 receptions, doing so in just 98 games.9 Boldin was eventually awarded AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance. Boldin scored 7 TDs in his first year as a Baltimore Raven. He had 836 yards through the air as well.10
So stegosaurus what is the value of Miles Austin in view of comparable players?
by Jonathan Stern on Jan 16, 2012 10:36 AM CST up reply actions
Comparable players?
So a diva receiver who quits on his team and causes drama, plus an aging receiver who was going to leave after his contract was up the next year anyway are now comparable to the young, talented, and hard-working Miles Austin?
Please.

you know stern we i think we can put a franchise tag on the Robinson and hope someone bits on it
But the rest of that trade is us losing too much value.. I would rather sign Miles for a straight up 1 st rounder. Also we alreafy paid out most of miles bonus money so why not keep him.as depth.since its not hurting us right now.

Other than DeMarcus Ware the Cowboys have zero pass rush
The Cowboys don’t have defensive backs that can cover.
The Cowboys defense doesn’t impress anyone.
But we do have 3 WRs.
If you want to trade up you are going to have to pay.
How much are you going to get for a defensive end that got ONE sack last year and a WR that caught 43 passes for 579 yards ( and maybe becoming injury prone.)?
We got a bunch of people on this board who think going 10- 6 and getting blown out in a play off game in Green Bay is a successful season.

This sounds like the worst trade ever.
It is basically Austin for less than a #1 and paying the Texans a #3 #6 and #7 to take Spears (a player we just resigned) since were swapping #2s and theirs is much worse. I am in no way kidding when I say whoever though of this needs to get on some meds.

Enjoy DeMarcus Ware against the league.
Miles is the one guy we can trade that we can get some value for that we don’t absolutely need.
You won’t get a number one for Miles Austin. Who would give us anywhere near that much?
Run stopping ends going on 30 that only get one sack and who only have 9.0 sacks in 6 years are not exactly in demand. You think you will get a 4th round choice for him?
Too many people on this board over estimate the talent level of the Cowboys.

JJ likes to trade first round picks for WRs.
Only JJ is going to give up a first and 4th for Austin.

People really need to stop talking about trading Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, or Demarcus Ware. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, AND IT'S STUPID.

I just saw something on profootball weekly said that the Texans are going to be looking for another receiver to go with Andre Johnson.
The trade makes sense for both teams

Giving up too much
I’d go with:
Miles, Kosier and Spears and our 4th for Texans 1st, 2nd and 7th.

DO NOT TRADE MILES AUSTIN
I love Robinson as much as anyone else here, but lets get real here. Robinson is only effective because of Dez and Miles… If Robinson is our number 2 then we’re in big trouble offensively.

umm no thanks
maybe if the texans pick was a high pick but its bottom of the 1st and 2nd round and i really think people are forgetting how much miles means to this team because hes been hurt, once hes healthy our offense could be deadly, if we trade him we would be in an even worse position offensivly then before we signed robinson.
Demarcus Ware- making Sheli Manning piss his pants since 2005
Not a good trade.
Houston would get a great receiver (a known quantity as it were) plus a decent back up DE, and a butt load of lower draft picks.
We get a low 1st round and low 2nd round (unknown quantities.)
Not good given our track record of drafts.
We need depth. The best way to obtain that is, as we have learned, is to not give away your draft in a stupid trade.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

We need depth but we need impact players on defense more than that.
