Response to the Comparison Poll

These are good questions, offense vs defense, DeCastro vs Konz. I believe a team drafts towards its needs and to the strength of the draft prospects. By all reports that I have read this is a weak QB, LB and DL draft but a strong CB, OL and WR draft. I think this same philosphy applies to FA. no oline in FA There is no real options in FA for oline, accept Chris Myers, OC, Houston and Houston wants to resign him but money is an issue, Grubbs no doubt will be resigned. Carl Nicks, OG, N.O. might be an option, he is in the same boat as Myers but there are at least 5 CB’s and Dallas should be able to come away with 2 and let Jenkins compete for his starting job. Resign Elam, I believe he can improve, make a run at Myers, I think we might be able to convince him to move up to Dallas. Deware94 pointed out that Kory lichtensteiger, OG/C is available, I know this guy, would be a good, solid guard (or at least better that what we have) but back up center only. I have read some grumblings about Spencer and thought I would share this with you. but a comparative analysis of the top 12 strong side OLB34’s in the league shows Spencer to rank 1st in total tackles, tied for 5th in sacks, tied for 1st in fumbles forced, tied for 2nd in QB hits and tied for 1st in tackles for loss – what more do you want, another DeMarcus Ware? Sacks are indeed a sexy stat, but QB pressure has to come from more than just the outside . . . This is from Draftek sports information. So, we have added CB’s, resign Elam, MILB Bruce Carter should step up and take B. James spot. That leaves Spears. There is only one DE in FA worth considering and that is Cliff Avril. He plays DE on a 4-3 and have no idea if he would be a good fit but since we have no depth on this team maybe Coach Ryan could find a use for him. It is simple to me, if we do not get Myers to play center then we have to take a shot for Knoz. OC, good ones just do not grow on trees and there is a great one this year up for grabs but I agree that the #14 spot is to high, drop down to the 22 spot (if browns would be interested) According to the, "Trade Value Chart" , we would be able to get a 3rd and 4th round pick and I do not think it improable that we could just get a 2nd round. My targets would be Konz/Ingram, if Konz is gone, for me, Ingram is just to good to pass up to replace spears. if both are gone there is still alot of talent that will be there both Offense and defense plus 2 second round picks but we should stay focused on rebuilding OL if both these players are gone, otherwise we will be here this time next year wondering what QB we should get in the draft because Romo had a career ending injury. You know we had a pretty good running game and a good passing game last year. Just imagine what we could accomplish with a GREAT OL. Our offense could take alot of heat off our defense, we could run when we wanted, throw when we wanted, in other words control the game, manage it instead to dancing to the other teams tune, 3 and outs would be rare instead of par for the course. So, this is how I would like to see the draft played out providing Dallas head office does it due dilligence. #1 Konz #2 Top OG/OT-Osemele/Glenn/Sanders/Massie etc (yes I know we have D Free and I love the guy but that does not mean he cannot be upgraded) #2 (2nd)TE Coby Fleener ( this is a copy cat league and there might be a run on TE in rounds 2 and 3 and if Bennett leaves we will need a TE might as well get a good one.) I am afarid that Mr. Jones will want to trade up to get Kirkpatrick, we would have to give up at least a 1st round pick next year but lets just say thats all we give for Mr Kirkpatrick. Trade up verses Down. I will use bottom round draft picks to show what it would look like. For defense minded guys: Kirkpatrick For CB Janoris Jenkins, SS Mark Barron, DE Jared Crick For Offensive minded guys: Kirkpatrick For OC Kunz, OG/T Cordy Glenn, L/ROT Zerbie Sanders Of course these are names that seem to be floating around the bottom half of the first round and top of the second. I think this is too much of a price tag for Kirkpatrick, great thou he may be, I would rather stay put than move up.

He did

And it’s verbatim to this up to a point. This post has a bit more added on. I guess he wants to make sure everybody knows his opinion.

And strider, paragraphs are your friend.

basically what has been said

Here’s a theoretical play from 2010: Snap. Tony takes 7 step drop. Tony looks left at Miles, who is doubled, and looks right to where Roy Williams should be…but instead sees Colombo on his back and a Defensive End foaming at the mouth jumping over Marc’s carcass. Tony proceeds to run like hell and look for Witten

Now, if somebody doesn’t agree with that, that’s cool. I also don’t agree with the fact that I don’t have $10 million in my bank account. But the fact that I don’t agree with it doesn’t make it any less true.

Alot to go over Strider

It seems like you’ve invoked the fanshot police, and next is you being hauled in front of the fanshot inquisition, before you get shot for being a fan.

In all honesty Strider, everything you’ve said makes perfect sense. The decisions that need to be made regarding what direction the team should go in lies with Garrett.
