I have found a new pet cat and I have fallen for this kid.
He has size at 6'1, 190, tackles and has ball skills. I look for those skills all the time when I look at CB prospects.

Norman has come out of nowhere and inserted himself at least in the 3-4 round range and he hasn't even played in the Senior Bowl (4pm Saturday NFL Network) or participated in the combine.

His stock is on the rise, big time.

Jerry, please give me this draft pick, please.

Josh has been on most scouts radar since he set the Big South Conference record for interceptions in 09"

A lot will come down to his play in the Shrine game and the combine but he has looked great in practices.

You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four. Dan Birdwell. Oakland Raiders

Reminds me of Rashean Mathis

Which is a good thing! Good size (height and build). I’m curious what his 40 time will be at proday or if he’s invited to the combine. Chia do you have any idea if he’s a willing tackler? Hopefully he’s also good in press man coverage for RR’s D.

This is my first post and I have to say I absolutely love this site and the majority of bloggers have good opinions.

Big props to you Chia, you post some good stuff man. Keep up the good work.

He is a little hesitant in tackling when he has to drop down and take on RB's and FB's.

He will need to work on his tackling. He grades out very well in most other areas.

That was the big question with him

He had not faced top end receivers playing in the Big South. Watching him at practices for the Shrine game he has been hanging with every receiver in one on one drills and scrimages. I have not seen him give up anything yet. He has a great nose for the ball and can get up there in a leap and go get from a receiver.

thats a good comparison

I know nothing about him before this week, but Mayock was saying he was a willing tackler, that is good news

thanks, welcome to the site

Funny, I was just reading about this guy from Raf and WB to.

Sounds promising. He said there were some very good small school guys at the shrine practices this week. CB, DL, etc.

yeah he is getting looks now

Mike Mayock had a nice video segment on NFL.com this week about him, Bucky Brooks talked about him too

was supposed to go to Georgia they backed off when he had trouble passing the requirement test

lol

DCFanatic brought that up on his radio show

boy I wish the David Buehler fan club (they do exist on here) would still try to justify keeping Buehler on the roster

god this fanbase annoys me sometimes

“but but David Buehler is needed for kick offs!!!!!!!! he is awesome at that!!!!!!! Dan Bailey cannot do that, no no no, we need to keep Buehler around”
smh

interesting

sounds like he might be a good one to look at aside from the top guys. looks like he will be trying to prove himself at the game/combine.

BUT, can he stay away from trucks that have recently purchased weed on the floorboard by his feet.

This draft could be special

How would u feel stepping away with 4 rounds looking like this:
1) Ingram OLB
2) Fleming CB
3) Zeitler OG
4) Norman CB

Also is this the same school as the “We need more dogs” head coach?

I would absolutely love that draft

Sounds like AOA

Ballhawking CB with great size? Small school standout playing against inferior opponents? Not very good in space? Yup, sounds like AOA.

I think this kid is better than Akwasi

Coastal Carolina is a way bigger school too

I wish Akwasi panned out, I loved that kid

AOA was no where the skill of Norman

No one thought AOA would be a CB in the NFL but he was a transition safety. I watched every game of Norman from college and what I could get from high school and have watched him in practice here at the Shrine Game. He is every bit an NFL CB. I had orginally had him as a 6th to 7th round pick but do to playing lower competition. I would put him as a solid 4th round pick right now after watching him against top WR’s. If he turns good times in the 40 at the combine he could move up to a 3rd round pick, maybe even a 2cnd.

Hopefully we can snatch him in the 3rd.

He is taller than our CB’s, a decent tackler, instinctive and a ballhawk. That would be nice to have. WB calls him the MVP of the week for the Shrine game.
However he also mentions he has off field character issues. Any idea if those are serious and what direction they go in?

I will post a fanshot tonight on the character concerns with Norman

A question

Why is no one talking about or even inquiring about the CB we have on the practice squad? Mario Butler, I think his name is…

by 405dallasfan on Jan 21, 2012 11:01 AM CST via mobile reply actions

We need 3 cb's this year.

1 to replace Newman, 1 to replace Ball and 1 to replace Walker. It isn’t that we are ignoring him, it is just that we need multi ones at the spot and I for one don’t really know how Butler is doing.
