Possible late round QB gem?
QB Alex Tanney is going to be playing in the All-Star Classic. He may be better known as a youtube internet sensation (link above). Here is what Wes Bunting had to say about him:
"There’s definitely some talent to the game of Monmouth QB Alex Tanney. The 6-3, 217-pound signal caller displays quick feet when asked to set and when he balances his lower half and snaps though the hips he can really spin the football. At times he gets upright and rolls toward his target negating his velocity, but he’s a raw piece of clay that can certainly be molded."

I really didnt wanna take a qb this draft
But of this dude sat for 3 years he could possibly develop into something special.

Couldnt disagree more
If you have questions about McGee you bring in a vet not another rookie. Plus rookie deals are only 4 years now… IMO romo plays 4 more years so essentially youre grooming a qb for another team to take in FA… I don’t wanna draft a qb for another 2 years personally.

We've had a gem come from Monmoth before
We could probably sign him as a UDFA?

wow
that’s awesome. very impressive.
i’d like to see if he can still make those throws with pads on.
and then again with some guy coming at him about to hit him. it would be interesting to see how he reacts to that pressure and if he can still be accurate.
regardless….those were some great throws.
"The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place."
Saw the kid on a scouting trip to Monmouth
He has a hell of a throwing motion and can put some zip on the ball. Raw in terms of footwork but not bad. He had a 69% completion rate which is evident from his video. Someone will pick him up as a UFA. If he can learn to read the defenses at the NFL level he could be a hell of a QB and coulld be a Matt Moore type surprise in the preseason.
You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four. Dan Birdwell. Oakland Raiders
How do you want to be rememberd. Go out there and play every play like it is your last play. Be remembered as the person you want to be for the rest of your life. Spike Dykes, Midland Lee and Texas Tech Coach.
birddog
Would u let this guy go undrafted or would you rather put a flyer on the guy…
A 5 th rounder or lower

Hard call not knowing what shakes out on draft day.
If I am a GM I would let my intrest be known to him and his agent along with making sure I have a scout at his Pro Day. This is the same tactic that the Cowboys used on Austin and Romo. I would tell him we are looking at him in the draft and that even if we do not pick him that we are still intrested in him. As soon as the draft ends and you start working on your UFA’s I would get on the phone with his agent and have Wade Wilson call him and talk about how we can make a commitment to his development.

i dunno.. that guy arm and skill set i cant let go undrafted..
But if hes not at the combine i understand.. but man this guy seem like a 4 th or 5 th rounder.. some one to develop…
Is this guy arm really this live and accurate or is this effects and trickery..

It is a hard call
The big thing is can he transition past the Div III level and learn at a much faster pace in the NFL. I think he can but he may not show anything until year 4 like Austin. Or he could tear it up lie Matt Moore did. Just a hard call. When you are on the clock and you are faced with a kid who had a good but not great D1 career and played at a high level in rounds 5 to 7 or him who do you want to go with. As a scout, this is a risk or reward situation. I think he is a priority UFA but his college and friends have done a hell of a marketing job as I have seen since Chris Johnson.

I'm hoping we look at BJ Coleman in the 5th round personally.
The guy definitely has talent and I think he could develop nicely if given time.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
