Lions
For my mother-in-law. A die hard fan who has been rooting since the 50s. She deserves a win.
Hate Schwartz but wish Sean Payton had stayed in Dallas
Man, could Dallas have been in a Super Bowl over that time?
Probably
But Payton was due to move on to an HC job. We couldn’t fire Parcells to promote Payton, I don’t think. The timing there wasn’t ideal.
Definitely
He’s of the Norv Turner, New England, Indy school of knowing you win in this league by piling up the points, and isn’t shy about stepping on the accelerator to get there.
Jimmy would step on your throat and keep his foot there.
You can’t play nice or scared.
Jerry is the end all in Dallas.

I'm still in awe of the game plan for the 1992 NFC Championship Game
He had Norv Turner attack, attack and attack some more. He said later if he lost the game, it was because he went down swinging, not because he was afraid. It paid off.
It's the only way NFL teams with any
talent should play. I think Garrett plays scared and is a control freak but this is not the dominant o-line of the 90"s and Dallas should go no huddle more scheme better for o-line blocking,( maybe I mean get Sporano back and let Houck go).
Sounds good to me
I’ve never understood why Houck has gotten a free pass given the problems on the offensive line.
Elite?
Seems like that word is thrown around a lot here.
Crouching moron, hidden smarta**
Optimism, pessimism, F*CK THAT; we're gonna make it happen. As God as my bloody witness, I'm hell-bent on making it work.
"This team is going to win a Super Bowl at some point."
Masai Ujiri, Brian Cashman: Magnificent Bastards
I hate that word
It seems ONLY applicable when ESPN and NFL Network want to anoint some player and look past any and every Cowboy including Ware and Witten and especially when they talk about Romo even when his stats scream ELITE.
I still haven't gotten over Schwant's taunting of Dez
And his temper tantrum after the 49ers beat them. And Suh’s cheap shots. Detroit was one of those teams I felt sorry for, now I hate them.
Crush them, Saints. Drew, I hope you throw for like 600 yards, and against this secondary, you can do it.
some people can't handle success.
Can you blame them though? Detriot isn’t exactly a model city.
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
Detroit looks like it is in serious trouble. The city that is.
People are moving out in droves and parts of it look like a war zone, or a 3rd world area.
I wonder how much longer the city can make it, or if the team will eventually have to move due to a lack of a real fan base left.
Little known fact
Some of the best pheasant habitat in the state of Michigan is in the city limits of Detroit. Not even the coyotes go there, yet.
Taking on the personality of their coach.
And that isn’t a good thing.
real fast ! Go Breesy ! lol

On the bright side
At least Romo and Ware are still on the pre game song with faith.
We're here to win football games. The way to do that is to tell him and to get on him at the right times. I do that when you guys (media) don't see and watch.''
What else makes a strong leader?
"You win,'' Romo said. "You're a very good leader once you win.
"That's' what we're going to do.''
im betting on time and money

that was a nice play by the cb...
if he doesn’t get by the wr, that is a 20+ yard run
Just thinking of a sold out Superdome is amazing to me.
That place is so huge, did they add a big screen for people to watch? From the top you can only see little colored dots running around.
I know, I saw a few football games there from up near the top when I was young. My mother got free leftover tickets sometimes.
just the fact that they are still there after katrina is amazing to me
that place was destroyed.

True, it is so old and was in really bad shape.
I haven’t lived there since, hum. Sometime in the 70’s, late 70’s and early 80’s. And it wasn’t new then.
not structurally
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
Lions/Saints
This is refreshing. Match up between two QB’s who are 100x better than Romo. What I would do to have Stafford on this team.
you are a joke!
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
No I can't do that.
Stafford isn’t anyway near the level of Romo. And just so you understand Romo>Romo with a badly bruised hand> Romo with broken ribs> Stafford.
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
lions fans got to thank Romo
Because if it werent for him absolutely hoking against the Lions and giving the game away, Lions wouldnt be in the playoffs right now.
Sweet and the game wasn't 30-17 going into the fourth with our D choking?
Dude there is not one thing on this Earth that you can show to prove Stafford>Romo.
I do not understand people like you, you enjoy hating on the team you pretend to love.
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
so the D threw 3 interceptions?
HAHA..
Blind Romo fans…
Even with Romo gifting them 14 pts it was still 30-17
With our D caving in the 4th like usual.
But please I am waiting for you to show me how Stafford is better.
"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
why are you so blind?
Two were returned for TD’s
One set the Lions up for another TD.
Romo choked. Stafford is better.
why are you so stupid?

Hey Brandon...
quit using the word “we” when you are talking about the Cowboys. You’re not one of us. We are family and Romo is part of that. You are not, so just zip it and go watch hockey or something.

Funny story on Yahoo about Goodell.
Pic shows him sitting all alone in a luxury box at the Texans game. So they took a stab at the top reasons he was alone.
1. Three people in his row celebrated a Texans touchdown as a group; Goodell summarily suspended them.
2. Was bogarting the popcorn (see bright yellow arrow, in case it wasn’t clear enough).
3. George H.W. Bush had an ice luge in his luxury box.
4. Annoyed everyone by repeatedly reminding them that his signature is on the football.
5. Figured that a playoff game in Texas meant he was in Dallas and was waiting for Jerry Jones to show up.

Lol, my cat is griping at me, she says it is past my bedtime.
She was really pissed at me last night for staying up so late. She came in and woke me up every 30 minutes to try and teach me a lesson. I threw her off the bed twice and she decided to quit.
Wow I just realized
From the NFC, Brees, Rodgers, and Manning have gone to the Super Bowl. Vick and Cutler have played in conference championships.
Romo… botches a fg snap and costs his team the game in the playoffs. Yes, this guy would be elite… if John Beck is.
get a life, stop complaining
I’m the biggest fag on mania, I’m more queer than a football bat, I wish i could get all brokeback with Cowboy, I should never pick a country boy to beat a thug. I was out of my mind and will never dis the Diaz brothers again. Actually Nate is the one that’s going to take Frankie’s title. Cruz Jackson is a demigod to all you bitches. and i am his bitch now, I have lost twice to him. Someone please pick a sig bet with him as i can no longer afford to take the beating i have taken.

I used to have a silly rabbit shirt, I only wore it around the house.
But I really loved it. To bad it finally wore completely out.
I couldn’t wear it out as it had a anti gay message that I found amusing. A friend of mine had the same shirt and wore it on her motorcycle. I was always afraid someone was going to run her off the road or hit her.

I have to say....
what the Lions are doing agains the Saints is impressive.
"Drew is a winner"....Roger Staubach
Inducted in Cowboys Ring of Honor 2011 FINALLY!!!!!!!
The offensive talent on these two teams is absurd
It was a little surprising how quietly the Lions went down against the Packers, Bears and Saints this year given that talent.
Calvin Johnson may be the first wr since Randy Moss I would describe as “impossible to defend”. A guy that tall and that strong should not be able to run that fast and catch the ball that well.
Well if you fuse together Moss and TO and subtract the headaches, there ya go.

There are good govt jobs that people have no idea are there. And they are fairly easy to qualify for.
For instance for the USDA you can go get a job at a slaughter house, after a year you can qualify as a meat inspector. You start at almost $40k a year, plus OT and great benefits.
That's cool information, thank you.
I will definitely look into it.
by me gusta on Jan 7, 2012 8:34 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
Sure
There are a few jobs that start out at a GS 5, that is the grade all the inspectors are hired in as. But it is in a area they have trouble getting people to work in, so it is a auto promotion every year for 3-4 years.
1 just closed in Maine like that, there are some open in NJ, CA, etc. If you are willing to move you can get a job pretty quick.
They also pay a $8,000 signing bonus for high need areas. They also will move you. You have to stay a year, then you can put in for a transfer to anywhere.
Just make sure you can afford to live there if you pick somewhere like NJ or CA.
Here is the basic app for the job. You can select up to 5 areas you are willing to work in after you app, and take a short multi choice test. The test is easy after you work in a slaughter house and know what the inspectors do.

I really do appreciate it.

Sure, save that link in case you decide to go for it later.
It will expire end of Sept usually, then they just repost a identical one.
They love to hire company employees of slaughter houses, they know what to do already.
Go ahead and send me your resume, I use different people on a temp basis during the year.

Funny what an O line and a running game has done for Drew Brees. He had a pretty
off year last year, and this year, I think he’s MVP.
The offensive line performance you saw tonight is why the Saints are Superbowl favorites
That offensive line is why Drew Brees is never complimented for his “escape-ability” like Romo is, because Brees doesn’t have to escape free rushers.

protection for Houston as well. I’m so jealous of those O lines.
How good has Tom Brady's line been over the years?

A Virtuoso Coaching Performance.....
by Sean Payton. That’s how a coach manages a team facing a high powered offense with the Saints somewhat poor defense. The aggression on fourth downs, the playcalling, the second half adjustments were just brilliant. Somebody send this game tape to Jason Garrett. My favorite moment was the Drew Brees fourth down QB sneak play and I immediately flashed back to Romo’s limp failed attempt against the Giants. Just a great coaching job.

The Saints line was terrific today
Garrett has very rarely had that benefit.
I love Peyton’s aggression though.
I was going to say the same thing. The Cowboys O line got no push, and Boley made
a really good play. I don’t think that was bad coaching.
Who helped scout our line and put them on the field?
That would be Garrett. Its his line. He’s the offensive coordinator. Its his problem Has been for years, Jerry notwithstanding.

Well, that's fine, but that wasn't the original issue. You were talking about game
management, not personnel.
To me, its all included.
Unless you have size like Brady or Roethlisburger, or some hops like Brees showed, maybe you shouldn’t expect your often injured quarterback with a suspect offensive line to get push when they hadn’t run the ball effectively all game. I think thats part of managing the game. Just sayin.

That's different. Fair enough. Romo is capable of running it, as he showed
against the Bucs, but no question having him run was not a good idea in this game, given the fact that it had to be hard to secure the ball with that bad hand.
Well....
Garrett helps scout the O-Line talent and he helped put those guys on the field, so he’s responsible for the poor line play as much as Jerry is. No excuses there.

I hope
The 49ers get absolutely destroyed by the Saints. I live in Cali and I can’t stand their fans now.

It's going to be an interesting game. The NO offense against one of the best defenses, if
not the best, in the NFL. I think the NO D can take the SF O.
I know exactly what you mean
I live in Virginia and went to SanFrancisco to watch the "boys play the 9ers and the fans were as bad as the Redskin fans are here. I have been to Dallas numerous times to see the Cowboys and have never seen opposing fans being crapped on like other city’s do.
Yup
A shooting. I think someone died, or was hurt. I cant remember. When the Cowboys played at Candlestick in week 2, it was overrun by Cowboys fans.

I'm not saying it hasn't happened but I've not seen it in Dallas
I was actually told by some people at the Hyatt in SF I should be careful wearing Cowboy’s t-shirts around different parts of that area. We went for a week.
When I watch the Saints offense
I look at the Cowboys offense and wish we could be explosive like that on a consistent basis.
If this team doesn’t take a pass rusher in the first, then they had better draft DeCastro.
"The tone is business," Garrett said. "Let's get to work. The Giants are going to be at the Meadowlands on Sunday at 4:15. They're an awfully good football team. We have to get ready for them."
