Really?

You don’t think it’s possible a young QB, who’s won games, took over a 1-4 team and took them to the play-offs and is having a nice first play-off game taking the Steelers to overtime, you don’t think there’s any chance that guy starts next year??!!

No chance that, like most young QB’s,Tebow shows some improvement in the offseason?

This is a league that gave Ryan Leaf, JaMarcuss Russell and Vince Young chance after chance. I can’t get my head around how you can think Tebow, who’s shown much more potential on the field than those guys, won’t ever get a run again. Not sure what you’ve got against this guy.

As I’m writing this he just threw an 80 yard TD to win a play-off game in overtime. 316 yards passing, 2 Td’s. 50 yards rushing, 1 Td. No turnovers. I think he’ll get the start again next week bigham hahaha :)

At some point

A guy who is efficient and doesn’t turn the ball over game after game has to be recognized as an NFL-quality quarterback. He’s not Brees or Brady, but Fox’s teams have never won by throwing it 60 times a game.

by kindablue on Jan 8, 2012 7:10 PM CST up reply actions

And Tebow has not even started a full FL season of games in his career.

There’s still plenty of time for him to improve. Don’t understand why people don’t seem to be able to get their heads around that fact. He’s young, he’s committed and has a great work ethic. He’s likely to improve over the next few years. He’ll never be Manning or Brady but he could become a McNabb type. Nothing wrong with that.

by Luke. on Jan 8, 2012 7:17 PM CST up reply actions

LOL there's still plenty of time for him

to fail miserably too! Personally I don’t care one way or the other, but anyone that win games as a QB and never break 150 yrds passing won’t last long… this is a fluke year and though I wish him the best I just don’t think the Tebow trains going to run that long.

There's no fluke years in the NFL.

Never breaks 150 yards? He threw for 300+ and 2 Td’s today against the leagues #1 D in a play-off game. Then he added 50 rushing and 1 Td too. All evidence points to him improving as a passer.

Irresponsible Steelers Playcalling

I purely want to use the Giants

I want the Giants to beat the Packers and then hopefully the niners lose to the Saints and then the Saints Trounce the Giants like they did earlier in the season (Oh, and that game would be in NO by the way, again…). I hate the Steelers and I hate the Packers and this would give a 9-7 team the 29th pick in the draft, when they were 8-8 the season prior.

Although all I want is for the Saints to be in the Super Bowl, because then I know I can enjoy it because a team I don’t like won’t be able to win it because they won’t be there (Steelers out and no Giants, 49ers or Packers)

Thought #2 on Today: Can we stop pretending Matt Ryan is a great QB?

This guy couldn’t even engineer a field goal against the Giants. He got shut out, zero points, against a weak Giants secondary.

Tony Romo with certainly no better O-line and no better running backs managed to put up a combined 50 points in 2 games against the same Giants defense.

So please, national media, let’s give it up with the Matt Ryan love. He’s a pretty average QB that falls apart under pressure.

You know Jim... bots

Being a fan means something… most people that understand the game of football can look at what you said and go… wow every running back we had that scored a TD… to help Staubach… Every Lilly, ToTall, Harvey Martin, Randy White, every Interception from Mel … maybe every Tony Dorsett run.. every Bob Hayes TD every LeRoy Jordan Tackle… it was a TEAM and not the QB, Tony is doing his part you have to add the other parts before we become a team… .better coaching, better running game, better defense. Don’t even go there with that crap because I have been a fan all my life all 45 years of yours.

So what he doesn’t like Romo? Doesn’t mean he isn’t a fan of Dallas. Perhaps he thinks that the best thing for the team is to rid of Romo. Personally I disagree with him but he’s entitled to think it without endangering his fan credentials. If you think he’s wrong tell him why or ignore him.

Maybe I could get the Oxford Dictionary to recognize a new word. Romophants. Etymology: Texas/Dallas; Noun; Def: Those football fans who refuse to acknowledge that Antonio Romo might have flaws, and worship the ground he throws incomplete passes, fumbles and throws interceptions on. Such a condition has has been recognized as a Psycopathic disease by the American Association of Football Psychiatrists.

by Jimbohts on Jan 8, 2012 8:01 PM CST up reply actions

I don't think anyone is saying that Romo has no flaws...

but you’re putting him below a QB who has a career completion percentage below 50%. I like Tebow and think he’s got good potential and he had a great game today but if you put them both in Free Agency right this off-season and see who got the most attention from other NFL teams it would be Romo by a landslide. That should tell you something. You’re underselling, quite dramatically, what Romo has done in his career.

YW!

Just curious. What in my post was incorrect?

by Jimbohts on Jan 8, 2012 8:36 PM CST up reply actions

Too easy.
Losing twice to the Eggles and Lilliputians

those aren’t even real teams. And even if they were, Romo didn’t lose to them. The COWBOYS did.

He played like a CHUMP!

Simply not true. Quantifying it with mistakes that did not directly lead to a loss doesn’t change the fact that you’re wrong.

Sigh...

The FUMBLE against the Jets DIRECTLY led to the loss. Two pick 6s against the Lions DIRECTLY led to the loss. The over throw of Miles DIRECTLY led to the loss. Meh, I have little use for “fans” who fail to acknowledge the obvious…

by Jimbohts on Jan 8, 2012 8:50 PM CST up reply actions

Better check your box score again, there...

the Jets did not score off the recovered fumble.
Megatron catching a hail mary over three defensive backs had a little something to do with the outcome, as I recall.
The defense not being able to hold the Gmen on consecutive drives is what determined that game.
But you can remember it how you want. I will remember it how it happened.

Meh, I could do this all night.

Not tired. And I love being right all the time. = )
Besides, maybe I can reverse troll them into profanity or some other violation…. Any chance to expedite the banning of a troll must be taken.

Their record tells you something...

Romo – 9-13 in starts since 2009
McGee – 1-0 in starts
Tebow – 8-4 in starts

Guess what?

Complain, cry, jump up and down and scream at the top of your lungs … you will have to deal with him as the QB of the Dallas Cowboys for another 5-6 years.

I think that's incredibly optimistic.

I think Romo might have 4 years left, but the way he gets injured lately, it may be less than that.

Guys...

Pitt’s gone. No 7 for them.

Hopefully no 6 for SF.

No 4 for the Giants.

Then no 5. for the Packers.

New Orleans getting 2? I’m cool with.

No love for Denver?

they can get their….3rd, right? I wouldn’t mind that either. Plus it would be funny to watch heads explode after being forced to watch Tebow “Tebow” with a ring on his finger.

Houston getting their first seems like the most realistic of them all.

Great Defense, Great OL, Great running backS, and freek WR Andre. What don’t they have?

you don’t need a great qb, just a safe one.
