Six players did not participate in practice yesterday, including both starting running backs, but center Ryan Cook and OLB Anthony Spencer were full participants.
Cowboys nation was hit hard yesterday with news that Sean Lee was put on IR and is looking at a recovery time of between four to six months. But the NFL doesn't stop, and the Cowboys continued their preparation for the Giants with a practice at Valley Ranch yesterday.
Six Cowboys players did not participate in yesterday's practice, including both starting running backs. Felix Jones sat out while he was resting a bruised knee, and DeMarco Murray was out nursing a severe foot sprain. The good news is that Murray is not in a boot anymore, but he is still doubtful for the game against the Giants.
DeMarcus Ware was also absent from practice with what has been described as a virus or an illness. Not practicing either was center Phil Costa, who is expected to miss at least the Giants game and perhaps more beyond that. Defensive end Sean Lissemore and safety Matt Johnson were also out.
Center Ryan Cook, who had been having trouble with his hamstring, as well as Anthony Spencer, who is still recovering from his pectoral muscle strain, were both full participants in practice.
There were a couple of new numbers at practice too: safety Charlie Peprah (26), LB Ernie Sims (59) and LB Jerry Brown (53, practice squad addition) all made their first appearance in Cowboys jerseys at practice.
