Baby it's cold outside.

No one likes to be on the outside looking in, freezing knee-deep in the snow while peering into the window of folks enjoying themselves with libations, good music and good times. Dallas' 5-6 record has them in jeopardy of missing their third consecutive tournament, as Bill Parcells used to call it, 12-team non-invitational known as the NFL playoffs.

We all know the myriad of things that this club doesn't do well; we're not going to tackle those things here. We're going to act on the faith (ok, wing and a prayer) that Dallas can right some of those wrongs and get things together sometime this season.

If they did, what else would have to happen around the NFC for them to have a shot?The rest of the field making it possible for the Cowboys to sneak in isn't nearly as remote a possibility as it is for Dallas to get their own act together.
