I have a question and am interested to see if anyone comments. Ya know, the Cowboys have played the past 4 or 5 seasons with immense pressure. Pressure to win after the 13-3 season. Pressure playing for a new coach - Wade. Pressure when things didn't go well and Wade was on the hot seat. Pressure when the 2010 season fell apart and Gerrett came in and had to pull a crushed team up from the ashes. Pressure to play with no training camp last year. Pressure to beat a Giants team that was better than them last year, away, for a chance to go to the playoffs. Pressure to play with Jerry Jones' input all the time. Pressure from the national media. and on and on.
My point - do you feel that the Cowboys need to go through this experience this year to finally have a reason to play WITHOUT pressure? I mean, does there come a point where you just go out and have fun playing? Because you really have nothing left to lose? Who cares now if they run no huddle the whole game? They're 3-5! Dez doesn't need to play all world, just run the right route and have fun. They're 3-5! Who cares anymore? Jason Garrett doesn't have to be cute with playcalling, just simplify and let the young 'uns have fun out there and do their thing. They're 3-5. Noone expects them to win anymore this season?!!
So, in saying that.... maybe NOW the Cowboys can take the weight of the world off their shoulder pads and just have a little fun playing the GAME of football. Who knows, maybe fun could actually become contagious and they could just wake up one day 9-6 with a head of steam and a chance to slip into the playoffs with momentum. FUN momentum.
Do they need to learn to not press? Just let it all hang out and have some......FUN!
