Yeah, I actually think that him and spencer you're lucky for a 5 yr $40 mil contract each...

Hmmmm

Spencer is an interesting person to keep…..

Calais won’t make it out of Arizona. And are you joking with that contract? 5 years for 20 mil. Keep dreaming…

Laurent sure why not…

Marty needs to be more than a great blocker Seems to have no chemistry with Romo. How about a tight end that’s well rounded?….

Corey Graham sure why not…

Chris Myers And why isn’t he staying in Houston. Would he pick Dallas over Houston?

Peyton Manning’s future is still up in the air…. And why would he want to come to Dallas…. If he retired, I doubt he’d get a coaching job. He’d probably enjoy his retirement for a year or two. If he went into coaching, would Dallas be at the top of his list?

Probably not.

Favorite Prospects: Martin, Burfict, Rainey, Curry

Yeah

I don’t think Calais will get out of Arizona either.

Just because we’re not a priority for Peyton doesn’t mean we can’t make him an offer.

Chris Myers – Because Houston is paying Wade Smith starter money for the next 2 years.

Marty is good for that money. Phillips is not going to produce like Marty. If so, he would’ve been starting already. No need to create needs when other holes are needed to fill.

never in a million years will you get LAURENT ROBINSON for that kind of deal..in the nfl it’s all about cashing in,if we want to keep robinson, your looking at a 4 or 5 year deal worth about 20 mill with a 7 or 8 mill bonus, and if we dont pay it,you can take it to the bank that someone will the browns or tampa would be my best bets..and as for that idiot bennett…he’s done ,let him walk

by panface on Feb 2, 2012 3:16 PM CST reply actions

If a team is gonna pay him that then I wish him the best of luck.

Dez Bryant – 5 yrs / $11.8 mil

No way Robinson gets paid more then Bryant.

by cwbys on Feb 2, 2012 3:21 PM CST up reply actions

Dez is on his rookie contract...

They are always much cheaper than their next deal. Robinson will take AT LEAST 2 mil a year.

by Static on Feb 2, 2012 3:41 PM CST up reply actions

That's reasanoble.

$20 mil for 5 years and $8 mil signing is ridicules.

by cwbys on Feb 2, 2012 4:16 PM CST up reply actions

For reference

Patrick Crayton got a 4 year 14 million dollar contract after having to fill in for Terry Glenn and Crayton didn’t do nearly as good of a job at Robinson did. I would say that 3.5-4 mil a year is more reasonable and is closer to what will probably happen.

by Static on Feb 2, 2012 4:48 PM CST up reply actions

He got over paid.

5 yrs / $10 Mil is good for Robinson.

by cwbys on Feb 2, 2012 4:54 PM CST up reply actions

Calais Campbell

6 Years / $60 Mil
Guaranteed: $10 Mil
Signing Bonus: $18 Mil
2012: $7 Mil
2013: $2 Mil
2014: $12 Mil
2015: $12 Mil
2016: $7 Mil
2017: $2 Mil

Average: $10 Mil / Year (Puts him in the top 10 most paid DE)

I think this would satisfy both parties. It gives Jerry a wait out in case Campbell doesn’t produce, for whatever reason, and keep Calais motivated to get to those 12 mil. By 2016, he’s 30. So makes sense to lower his pay as he nears his end. Of course, if he does the Ray Lewis, then we can resign him for more years.

Jerry Jones did say he was going to spend in FA. Although, I have my doubts.

Anthony Spencer

6 Years / $45 Mil
Guaranteed: $10 Mil
Signing Bonus: $12 Mil
2012: $1.5 Mil
2013: $2.5 Mil
2014: $4 Mil
2015: $7 Mil
2016: $8 Mil
2017: $10 Mil

Average: $7.5 Mil / Year (Ray Lewis / Patrick Willis money)

The real contract is:
$8 Mil for 2 yrs [Average: $4 Mill / yr]
or
$14 for 3 yrs [Average: $4.6 Mill / yr]

Still a 2-3 year contract.

Guaranteed: $0 Mil
Signing Bonus: $3 Mil
2012: $1.6 Mil
2013: $1 Mil
2014: $1.3 Mil
2015: $1.5 Mil
2016: $1.6 Mil

Average: $2 Mil / Year

CAP HIT

2012
Calaias – $10 Mil
Spencer – $3.5 Mil
Robinson – $2.2 Mil
Graham – $830,000
Bennett – $980,000
Myers – $4 Mil

Total = $21.51 Mil

by cwbys on Feb 2, 2012 4:37 PM CST reply actions

Too much $

Without Calais, its an $11.51 Mil Cap Hit, which Cowboys can afford.

by cwbys on Feb 2, 2012 4:59 PM CST up reply actions

Peyton Manning might buy a NFL team, but he won't coach on one.

The only prefect science is hindsight............Lock n Load
