Draftee Success Rate by Position and Round Selected
With draft time near and all the draft talk and mock drafting going on, I thought this article, although a little dated (2006), would be very resourceful. The author talks about the success rate of draft picks and breaks it down by position and draft round. Have to admit, although I like the idea of DeCastro at 14, I think we should address D-line or DB with the 1st pick more so now after reading this. Hope you guys find it as informative as I have.

NP, I thought it was very informative
and it solidified my opinion on going CB or D-line in the first round. I think a lot of people would like it, if they could find it. lol
funny quote
f the Saints had recognized the potential in either Bulger or Delhomme, they would have been a much better team the last few years.
It is pretty interesting. The writers notes that the 6th, 7th and UDFA are effectively the same talent pool and the players interchangable. But he notes that the 6th round is oddly productive for QBs (maybe just a fluke) — I wonder though, if that means when you’re down the 6th round and you feel free to pick players on hunches, if that leads to good QB discoveries
