Build from the inside out

The offensive line needs plenty of help. Great teams are built in the trenches. The Bernadeau signing is a good depth move but I have a suggestion. Take a look at Steve Hutchinson. He is visiting with Seattle this week, weird right? We need guard help. My suggestion is the Cowboys upgrade the guard position by signing a veteran guard, like Hutchinson, and still draft De Castro. My rationale for this, after the jump......

Offensive linemen, like De Castro, are usually more NFL ready than a skill position player. We need this first rounder to have an immediate impact and De Castro, from all I've read, is the best guard prospect since....you guessed it, Steve Hutchinson. That said the line would be Free, De Castro, Hutchinson, and T. Smith. The Cowboys would still need to address the center position but it looks like Nagy might get a look or even a smart veteran, like Kosier could have a shot. If we go for a corner back or a defensive end, we may have to wait to see results. I am tired of waiting for players to pan out. The draft can still yield a good prospect at corner, just look at Brandon Carr, 5th round, Grand Valley State.....and 50 million dollars richer.
