Cowboys and Redskins file grievance: Mara unintentionally helps their case.

This article puts forward some interesting aspects of the Cowboys and Redskins case. Since the management council which includes Mara was involved in the decision to penalize the teams, they could be in violation of anti-trust laws. It appears Mara was basically protecting his own interests at the expense of the league and the division.
