A Super Bowl Mock Draft V1.0

I am new to the BTB community but after reading some of these recent mock drafts I decided to create one of my own and am interested to see what you guys would think about it, so please feel free to write comments and give constructive criticism if you feel the need. In my particular scenario it involves a trade down a few slots in the first round netting us an extra third rounder, the reason being is because I believe that all of the Alabama defensive prospects will be available at our pick, and I firmly believe that Garrett will draft one simply because he went to that one and only pro day this year just like Tyron Smith's one and only last year. I do not believe this is a smoke screen because teams have no way of knowing who he was there to scout at all. With this in mind let's take a look at how my draft now goes...

After a trade down in the first round the Dallas Cowboys select S- Mark Barron from the University of Alabama.... Markbarron_medium

I know some of you will not agree with this pick due to the fact that you guys think he is Roy Williams 2.0... I however COMPLETELY DISAGREE... This man had 12 int's in 3 years... that takes Ball-Hawking skills my friends... just sayin... I do agree he is a Roy Williams type player to a certain extent but just with much better coverage skills... and keep in mind when used properly Roy Williams was a multiple time pro bowler... I also think this is the best pick because much like Tyron Smith you get to take a best player at a position...that can't be said for any of the other 3 guys... IMO this guy has the upside to finally be the replacement for Darren Woodson that we have been searching for...

Now our second round pick can go a couple of different ways depending on what's available and how other teams' draft boards look but one of these guys will be here.... My first choice is DT/DE Jerel Worthy from Michigan State University 27-oct-10_102166417jd101_michigan_sta_crop_450x500_medium

and second choice is DT/DE Devon Still from Penn State University.... Devon-still_medium

Either one of these guys would add a tremendous upgrade to our D-Line as both can play either position which is exactly what RR covets... They will not move Ratliff from the NT position I'm sorry to say just because he is a pro bowler at the position... which I do not agree with because I am one of the believers that he is extremely undersized... nonetheless, with one of these picks it would give us the opportunity to move guys around and get a much better pass rush from different places along the line, which is exactly what RR likes to do...

With our first of the 2 third round picks that we have now acquired I am selecting one of 3 guys depending on who's available... First would be DB- Josh Robinson from the University of Central Florida... Robinson-football-548x317_medium

After a tremendous combine this guy may not be around but if by some chance he is he could be the steal of this draft with the tremendous upside he has and a DB coach like Jerome Henderson coaching him up...
Second would be DB Jayron Hosley from Virginia Tech University 2367-med_medium

and Third would be DB Jamell Fleming from the University of Oklahoma... Jamell_fleming_tostitos_fiesta_bowl_connecticut_dtflxa4rvqal_medium

I think any one of these guys can be coached up enough in one season to replace Mike Jenkins if need be, that's if they decide to let him walk, which I hope they don't I would rather see Scandrick who I am not a big fan of cut after a season or two and have one of these guys replace him...

With the Second of our Third round picks I am selecting DE/OLB Jake Bequette from the University of Arkansas... Georgia_10_jake_bequette_aaron_murray_medium

This guy can replace Anthony Spencer all day long... He is a tremendous pass rusher and had a monster combine posting one of the most complete lines of all DE's or OLB's... IMO he is a diamond in the rough and happens to be one of my pet cats much like Ryan Kerrigan was last year... hated seeing him going to the Redskins but oh well, what can you do? Anyway, I think this guy has the upside to be just as good as Kerrigan and I am hoping and praying he gets to wear the star for the next 10-12 years...

On to my fourth round pick C/G Phillip Blake from Baylor University... 5756128_medium

I was debating between him and Brandon Brooks from the the University of Miami(Ohio) and chose him largely because he plays Center and Guard and provides some versatility, and also the fact that I now believe after free agency that C is our biggest need...

Here is where things get a little dicey...With the fourth round compensatory pick I am selecting RB-Terrance Ganaway from Baylor University as well... Terrance-ganaway_medium

No I am not a Baylor fan as many of you are probably thinking right now I just believe he is a perfect goal line back and compliment to Demarco Murray... I believe Felix Jones will be walking next year if not traded in this draft or during the season so we need a replacement... Ganaway reminds me so much of how Marion Barber was in coming out of college and remember how effective he was running behind Julius Jones until he tried to become an every down back which he never should have been... with Murray already on the team he will never have to become that and could be a great addition to our offense which would help out TREMENDOUSLY in the red zone where we desperately need it the most... I also believe he is only available this late in the draft due to the fact that he was overshadowed by RG3 and is great value at this spot...

With the fifth round pick I will provide 2 options... I am hoping and praying that somehow WR-Ryan Broyles from the University of Oklahoma Ryanbroyles04_medium

falls here who I think will one day be a superb slot receiver in the NFL and would be a great addition to Dez and Miles and also a great replacement for Laurent Robinson who I honestly don't think is as good as people like to believe and you will find out this season... Broyles again provides great value here because he is only available due to injury concerns and if not for that he could have been as high as a second round pick... IMO the fifth round is a great place to take a low risk/high reward type player because it won't hurt too bad if it doesn't pan out... but just in case he is gone the pick then becomes WR-Joe Adams from the University of Arkansas... another intriguing prospect to throw into the mix to battle for third or fourth WR and not to mention KR/PR as well..

On to the sixth round where I am selecting TE- Evan Rodriguez from Temple University.... 20111101_inq_owlsfb01-b_jpg_medium

via media.philly.com

Cut in the same mold as Aaron Hernandez of the Patriots this guy would make a great addition alongside Jason Witten and would be an outstanding red zone target... especially after being the leading receiver on his team this year... he is great at YAC and the only knock on him really is his speed which is why he is dropped this low, that and IMO the fact that he was on a bad team without a good QB to maximize his potential which he would instantly be getting by wearing the star if he's drafted here...

And with my seventh round and final pick I select QB- Case Keenum from the University of Houston... Case-keenum-ncaa-pass-record-houston-vs-rice_medium

via www.inquisitr.com

A hometown boy who set all kinds of NCAA records...many experts say he is only a product of the system at Houston which is why he landed this low but honestly if he played so well in that system why can't he sit behind Romo for 3 or 4 seasons, learn this one, and play that good in it? This guy could turn out to be our next Tony Romo if you ask me and I will definitely take a chance on a guy in the seventh round who, in his last game, against a ranked Penn State team with a pretty good defense threw for 532 yards and 3 TD's... Just Sayin...

Well there you have it folks my first mock draft... Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions I am looking forward to reading what many of you have to say and intrigued by what you guys might think of this draft.
