So, I remember reading a few weeks ago about how Hatcher was down around 280 lbs. This obviously has something to do with our decision to draft Tyrone Crawford in the 3rd. But, what's the plan?I, for one, try not to claim to be clairvoyant enough to "know" what the Boys' staff is up to. I do, however, have a direction I would be stoked to see Rob take.
Ta'Amu or Thompson were as good as picked @ 81 by us after Houston sent their pick away as far as I was concerned.
NOPE. As usual. Here I am like the rest of you suckers wondering, "WTF were they thinking?" Who the crap is this guy? Damn, I have to watch clips of that God awful field again? Crap, another day of waiting for Ta'Amu? There goes Thompson. Damn Bengals are hauling in all the guys I wanted.
I'd like to see them deploy more 4-3 fronts w/ a DT rotation of Brent \ Ratliff \ Lissy \ Ta'Amu \ Spears and a DE rotation of Spencer \ Crawford \ Ware \ Hatcher. Carter and Butler/Conner would play base olbs w/ Lee manning the middle.
After comforting myself with daydreams of Claiborne juking Vick out on his way to the house, I had a chance to check Crawford out a bit and have decided that I like him. He's apparently pretty raw and only has 15 games of experience against any major college talent. But in those 15 games he put up some pretty solid numbers and, for the most part, was persistently disruptive. Pretty much anywhere the guy has played, he's always been the most productive player on the field.
Expect nothing less from an NFL prospect, huh?
What really get's at me is, the "tweener" size he has going on. He's long and a "big" 280. Looks like a TE.
How are we going to use this guy?4-3? Wide 9? Nickle DE? Short yardage SOLB? Project player???
I guess I really like Lee and if Carter pans out, It would make the concept of that last blasphemy much easier to stomach. Trust the system, right?
