Where in the World is Killer Kowalski???

For months now I have been filling the void in my life known as the off-season, by visiting BTB, and other bastions of football news in the hopes of gleaning enough information about the Cowboys to sustain me. Sometimes it has been a bit touch and go, but so far I have made it. I am excited to see who we draft, and am pleased that we seem to have used free agency to address many of our needs so that we can focus on selecting the best player available instead of drafting purely to fill holes. One question has plagued me for weeks: Where in the World is Kevin Kowalski?

Like most of us, I was not impressed with last season’s play by Phil Costa. I have read copious articles, some informative, some mere diatribes, and very few seem to endorse Phil Costa as the answer at center. It is entirely possible that the Cowboys will draft a Center to compete, and we have 3 rookies who will be returning as well. I am unaware of any Centers capturing the hearts and minds of BTB nation. I have read speculation that Nagy or Arkin may move over to center. What I have read very little of, is the idea that Killer Kowalski is the answer. Kowalski is two years younger than Arkin, Nagy, or Costa, and therefore should enter the dreaded 30’s 2 years later. I didn’t even use a calculator to figure that out! During what became a rather disappointing season, I thought that Kowalski’s play was solid. He did not seem to be outmuscled as easily as Costa, despite weighing about 15 pounds less. I don’t recall him unexpectedly snapping the ball or conversely not snapping it when he was supposed to ala Costa. He played in 11 games, during which he had 1 false start penalty and was credited with 1 sack, which is bad since he plays on the O-line. If Kowalski emerges as our Center, and plays well, Tom Ryle and I will be sayin "I told you so". If not, then I will petition to have this article removed.
