Offense - 25
QB (3) Romo
Romo is set in stone barring an injury. Orton is capable of being a starter for many temas. He took a Bears team with a lot less skill players to the playoffs. Rudy Carpenter is back and will steal the 3rd spot away from McGee.
RB (3)
Murray will be the starter with Jones returning to his rookie weight to be a 3rd down homerun hitter. Dunbar was held in check by the better defenses in college, but still burned them with his pass catching ability. He will unseat Tanner for the 3rd spot.
FB (1)
If Vickers were to get injured the 'Boys will sign a free agent.
TE (3)
Witten may be slowing slightly, but he's still the best all around TE in the league. Phillips is a poor mans version of Witten, he sticks as the #2. Hanna may be one of the fastest TE's in the league. On obvious passing downs, from a 22 set, he will open the seams for our WR's and be a homerun threat up the middle.
WR (6)
Our 1 & 2 WR's are set in stone. Coale will win out for the 3rd. 'Tree will be pushed off the roster by our 3 young guns.
OT (3)
Smith may experience another year of growing pains switching sides. Free will return to his 2010 form on the right side. None of the UDFA's will beat out Parnell for the swing spot.
OG (4)
Though Livings has the biggest contract, I think Arkin starts on the right and Bernadeau on the left. Livings would be the immediate backup to either side. Nagy will get some work at center and will become our interior all purpose man.
C (2)
Kowalski will be back and become the starter. Costa is kept around as insurance.
Defense - 25
CB (5)
I see Claiborne manning the left and Carr the right. Scandrick will still be the slot guy. Taplin-Ross is going to win a close camp competition with Butler for the 4th spot. If Jenkins is traded or released, Butler makes the sqaud. Otherwise Jenkins stays and plays 4th fiddle pushing Taplin-Ross to the 5th spot.
SS (2)
Sensabaugh would of had 7 INT's in '10 if not for the cast he wore. With the addition of quality corner play, he will surprise many people. Church will not be unseated as the No. 2 guy.
FS (3)
Pool will start the year as the man. But look for Johnson to gain more playtime by week 7-8. McCray stays around if for no other reason than ST's.
ILB(4)
Lee and Connor will start the year. By the bye week Carter will unseat Connor. Lemon had an outstanding camp last year. He should have been the 4th guy in '11 over James or Brooking.
OLB(4)
Ware and Almost Anthony stay put. Spencer will be sent after the QB more now that our ILB's will have the youth, speed and skill to cover. Many people will think he's playing for a contract, but it will just actually be the 1st year he is used correctly. Butler gets knocked off by Wilber. And with Albrights ability to cover, he becomes Spencers immediate backup.
DE (5)
Lissemore and Spears will be the "starters". Hatcher and Geathers will get playtime at NT/DT in certain sets. Ryan rotates the line so much that all will get a fair amount of playtime. Look for Crawford to be used in place of Spears on obvious passing downs.
DT (2)
Ratliff will stay at NT. Brent will rotate in more often this year. I'm looking for a 70/30 or better split.
Special Teams (3)
K (1)
He's been our best kicker since we got rid of kicking coach Steve Hoffman (biggest ST mistake ever)
P (1)
Did well enough in McBriars absence to win the job if for no other reason than how low his salary is.
LS (1)
Do not fix what is not broken.
Practice Squad (8)
CB Lionel Smith
FB/ILB Caleb McSurdy
CB/WR Teddy Williams
QB Nathan Dick
OG Ron Leary
OG/OT Levy Adcock
WR Cole Beasley
Williams and Calloway stick from last year. Adcock may go on PuP or IR.
If we only keep 2 QB's, I foresee Ron Leary making the team in place of the 3rd QB.
