There is one thing I hate come draft time and that is spending, no joke, hundreds of hours watching and breaking down film (too the best of my know-nothing ability), reading scouting reports etc to only have it all be moot. It always happens. Usually though it is only a few names I don't know ANYTHING about. This year was a different story. I didn't know about anyone really other than Clai and James Hanna (whom I mocked to us in the 6th in a few mocks I never posted), I wasn't happy. I felt cheated with all the passing on my pet cats. Especially when I thought they would go rounds earlier. Oh well, I did my research and I am sold. I love the Clai pick obviously, but I also am so pumped about Matt Johnson, Danny Coale, and James Hanna.
I think Johnson will be our starting FS before this year is over. He has great instincts and his ints speak for themselves. He will need a little coaching up to go from a more SS to FS, but he has the whole package.
I think Coale can be that #3 we have been looking for probably even this year. He is a great option in the slot, but can also work outside (which is nice because that is the way Austin plays too). His hands are like glue, he is a speed demon, and his routes are nice and polished.
I think Hanna will be the opening day #2 TE and provide a real threat in 2 TE sets. He didn't get a lot of chances at OU, but he has what it takes. He isn't the blocker we need... YET.
I don't think Tyrone Crawford starts this year, but he will be good in rotation and the same goes for Wilber, so I legitimately see us getting major production out of 4 guys from this draft and some solid production from one (Wilber). That's a nice haul, although I could be totally wrong. That's the way football go.
