Felix Jones Trade Targets

Felix Jones has not had a great offseason, to put it lightly. After failing a conditioning test, Jones has done nothing to acquit himself in two preseason outings. Granted, it is just the preseason. But DeMarco Murray and a few capable backups make Felix expendable and if we can upgrade our roster via trade, it makes sense to at least explore the possibility. But who could we get in return? (DISCLAIMER: I have no idea if any of these proposed trades are anywhere close to realistic or appealing to the teams mentioned. I tried to keep from saying things like, "We should trade Felix for DeCastro DERP!")

Make the leap to see some targets.

Doug Legursky, C/G, Pittsburgh Steelers - 6'1", 315 lbs, 26 years old

A young, versatile backup who has filled in at both guard and center. Pittsburgh has the center position locked down with Pouncey. Pitt's starting RB, Rashard Mendenhall, is banged up. Would Legursky be an upgrade on the interior? Let's just say that while he may be a backup in Pittsburgh, he'd start in Big D.

James Jones, WR, Green Bay Packers - 6'1", 208 lbs, 28 years old

Green Bay has a very crowded receiving corps and will most likely have to make a move with at least one talented WR towards the final cuts. Jones is a talented receiver who could make for an even better version of Laurent Robinson. Green Bay also has injuries and ineffectiveness in their RB corps, recently resorting to signing Cedric Benson.

Jason Fox, T/G, Detroit Lions - 6'7", 303 lbs, 24 years old

Taken in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Fox is healthy this year for the first time in his career. Has practiced at both tackle and guard. A talented player at Miami, Fox started the third most games in a career (47) amongst linemen for the Hurricanes. Would definitely be a swing-for-the-fences type trade due to his injury-plagued first two years in Detroit. Detroit has depth at his position and injury concerns at RB.

Uche Nwaneri, G, Jacksonville Jaguars - 6'3", 318 lbs, 28 years old

Born in Garland, TX, so he's got that going for him. Has started since 2008, his second year in the league. In 2009 he was officially credited with giving up one half-sack and was called for zero penalties. Jacksonville is currently in a nasty contract dispute with holdout Maurice Jones-Drew and the franchise has consistently stated that they are not going to cave to MJD's contract demands. Adding a RB like Felix Jones would certainly send a loud message.

These are just a few targets with which I'd be comfortable. What say you BTB?
