Let's be honest, there's a lot to be expected of you when you're a first round pick... and even more so when you're a Top 10 guy.
I try to be objective and understanding when it comes to our young guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt in their first year or two, but I know some folks find that hard to do. I understand...
However, I decided to go back and gather the information for the 2008-2010 NFL drafts and compile the numbers for all the 1st round CBs who played at least 700 snaps for their team in their rookie year.
See the info after the jump.
The list of these CBs who meets the aforementioned criteria includes: Joe Haden, Kareem Jackson, Vontae Davis, Devin McCourty, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Antoine Cason.
Here are the results when averaged out...
They played an average of 904 snaps allowing 84 targets, 51 receptions (61% comp), 5 TDs allowed, 4 INTs and 9 PDs.
I believe this would be a realistic way to judge Mo's first NFL season. Now here's to a healthy one!
