Looks like Murray is going to be a workhorse. And could we get by with the tandem of Tanner, Dunbar and maybe even Olawale if Felix was gone. I like Felix as a change-of-pace back but he is a free agent next year anyway, and I dont think we even make an effort to re-sign him. And since we are probably not a Super Bowl contending team this year, it could be a good move for our long-term future. I believe Detroit believes they are in the Super Bowl hunt this year and could overpay.
I wouldnt pay this, but could we get a conditional 2nd round pick for him? Say he gets 800 plus yars rushing and the 3rd we receive becomes a 2nd round pick or something. Or maybe its more along the lines of 1,000 yards from scrimmage since Detroit throws to their backs a lot. I would totally do that.
In looking at their roster, I'm not seeing a lot of players that would match-up to Felix. They either have studs or duds. After just a glance at their roster, what about a guy like Sammie Lee Hill? Huge DT who could easily play the Nose at 6-4, 330 lbs. He's entering his 4th year and has started 15 games with 44 tackles and 4 sacks. They have Ndonkeykong, Corey Williams and Nick Fairley in front of him so he would be expendable. Maybe we trade Felix for Hill and a 5th rounder or something. Hill would probably make our team and could be an upgrade over Brent.
