Where's the FIRE!

I do not often feel the need to post fan posts on BTB as I can usually find an appropriate place to comment. This particular time though the only place I saw an article/comment/post of what I will address shortly was on the mothership and I didn't want to set up an account there to post my view. Anyhow there has been something missing around Valley Ranch for quite some time.

This lack of attitude/demeanor was, once again, made apparent to me this past weekend on the Sean Lee Golden Tate hit/block. I am not getting into a discussion or debate about the legality of it...it is what it is. This is football protect yourself at all times and keep your head on a swivel. While the hit did bother me it was what happened after, actually what didn't happen, that really bothered me.

Where were Lee's teammates after that hit? Why wasn't there anyone other than Scandrick getting riled up about it? Where is the fire in our team? Are we too nice to be tough? It's not that I desire our team to have an untamed fury that causes more self-inflicted harm than good. I would like for them to have some fortitude, some fire, some passion, guts, presence on that field that let's an opponent know that they need to tread carefully when they play the Dallas Cowboys. I want our opponents to dread playing Dallas, because they can feel it for the next week... win or lose.

I am sure many can relate that if a person were to cause harm to ones family most would respond without consideration and even in spite of the repercussion. The defensive players on the Cowboys are Lee's platoon/second family. In the NFL the penalty may have been a another flag or worst case a suspension. In either event the punishment is worth letting it be known that that behavior will not be tolerated by this team and not because of the ref's, but because we the Dallas Cowboys will not allow it.

I desire to see some fire out of our team especially on the defense. Thanks for listening and you may now return to your regularly scheduled program.
