This is what I feel like is the best possible scenario. It includes a draft trade, between us and the Ravens. Our 1st for there 1st, second and 6th. They trade up to get T'eo to replace newly retired Ray Lewis.
late 1st
Barret Jones C Alabama- I think he is the best interior lineman in the draft. his versatility and technique lead me to believe he will be successful. He should be a plug and play if his lis franc injury heals in time.
Mid 2nd
Margus Hunt DE SMU- Very Raw with great upside. Looking at him I think he could get up to 300 and still be fast. Allowing him to play DT or LE. Normally I wouldn't pick this guy but I have a lot of faith in Marineli, I think he'll whip this guy into shape. I feel like his upside is better than Ansah's but, he did play worse competition in college.
Late 2nd
Chase Thomas OLB Stanford - This guy is going to be a player. Most people have him marked as a rush end. But he reminds me of Sean Lee in his instinctive flow to the ball. He can be a violent hitter, and I feel he would be an excellent SAM backer for us, he is decent in pass coverage.
Mid 3rd
Kenjon Barner RB Oregon- This guy is undersized but he blocks well catches well. Hopefully he will be what we wanted Felix to be.
mid 4th
Jordan Hill DT Penn State- This is a average sized guy with a high motor, he excels in defending the run game laterally, in my mind he could be a starter, but his floor should be as a rotational run defender.
mid 5th
Phillip Lutzenchirken TE Auburn- This is a homer pick. He might be a little light for what we a re looking for but he is a strong blocker and a decent option in the pass game. Any on who watched Auburn play before this season knows he was Auburn's version of Witten.
Mid 6th
Cooper Taylor S Richmond- Over sized Safety, seems to have the instincts and range to play safety but if not has the size to move to an OLB position in the tampa 2
Late 6th
Blaize Folte OG TCU- he is a mauler at the position, with unbelievable strength, this could be the guy who gets the most reps at 225 at the combine if he has been invited.
