The End of an Era

Jay Ratliff is a Cowboy no more

I'm writing this article for two reasons:

  1. To pour some water on the "hate Jay Ratliff" fire
  2. To try out some different things with html to see if the editor supports it

Fortunately I know very little HTML or CSS, so I've pretty much got the distracting stuff out of the way :D

On to Jay Rat(who has a website by that name, which you can visit by clicking here) I just wanted to do the man a service by reminding us all of a few relevant career stats:

  • Tackles: 228
  • Sacks: 27
  • Games Played: 104

I know a lot of people have grown tired of the Ratliff drama. A lot of people recognize(correctly) that he is not going to play a meaningfull snap of football ever again, at least not the way he used to. You might have even realized that last year.

But there is ONE THING you should not forget: This man has been a career cowboy.

He's played 104 games in a dallas uniform over the course of eight years. What's the average career of an NFL player? 6 years! Rat has given us his all through that time, he has made multiple pro bowls, and he has been an integral part of our team the entire time.

Keep in mind that we don't know what happens in Valley Ranch. We've heard that there is discord between Ratliff and the front office, and we automatically label him a WKG and give him the boot as he walks out the door. For all we know, Jerry Jones could have slept with his wife...

I'm not saying that's the case. I'm not even saying that the people calling him a WKG are necessarily wrong, I'm saying that there's no way to know and, as good fans, we should show a little more class and a little more thanks to a man who played a career for our beloved Dallas Cowboys.

BEST WISHES JAY
