Tops in the NFC East

What it all means?

By beating the Philadelphia Eagles 17-3, Dallas is now 3-0 vs. Divisional opponents in the NFC East and as a team, the Cowboys have accomplished their first two game win streak of the season. The win was very instrumental since it was the first road win since December 9th of last season vs. Cincinnati. Sadly, the boys were playing with heavy hearts that day due to the untimely death of their teammate Jerry Brown just prior to the game.

On the flipside, the Eagles have not won at home now in nine straight games dating back to September 30th of last season vs. the Giants who coincidentally come to play this weekend at Lincoln Financial Stadium.

It was thought by most before the game to be a high scoring affair considering the defensive efforts or lack thereof from both teams thus far. Not to mention all of the well publicized comments from the locals surrounding second year backup QB Nick Foles, who to his credit did beat a winless Tampa Bay team 31-20 at their place last weekend. Foles the Austin, Texas native was put out of the contest by a Georgie Selvie sack near the sideline on the last play of the third quarter. Foles, clearly mishandled the play by not throwing it away before the sack. He finished 11/29 for 80 yards all while being sacked three times.

The once vaunted NFC East has recently been mocked as the "NFC Least" is now a combined 10-17. With Dallas leading the way in overall record 4-3 and in most major statistical categories. Below, I have compiled the list in order of Offense, Defense, Special teams and Team stats.

BONUS

Tony Romo who has most of the all time QB stats for the Dallas Cowboys now has an all time NFL record for most yards and completions by a QB through the first 100 starts of a career with 27,485 and 2,262 respectively. These are numbers that may never be eclipsed again yet how did he accomplish this by being one of the worst QB's of the public eye.
