Why drafting HAHA is no laughing matter

Much like the rest of my fellow Boys fans I see the glaring need in our interior O-line and all around need for defensive line help however we can't ignore the glaring hole we have in our secondary at FS. Giving up 400+ passing yards four times does not fall just on the defensive line our coverage at times has been down right awful as well as tackling in the secondary. As much as I like Wilcox I believe his true position is SS and as for Heath I feel for the kid being thrown into the fire because he's simply just not ready and he is more of a special teams guy in my opinion. While it's still to be determined where exactly Dallas drafts based on our play lately I would assume it will be mid 1st giving us the option on several players. Will there be defensive line players available? Yes but I don't see a huge gap between the 1st round players and the 2nd and 3rd however with safety the drop off is clear.

1st round - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (S) Alabama - Is very good in pass coverage as a deep defender, can cover large receivers and has a knack for finding the ball totaling 5ints, 4pbu, and a FF in a full season as the starter.

2nd round - Trent Murphy (DE) Stanford - Anthony Spencer is likely to walk even with the knee injury so drafting Murphy would fill the void. He's an excellent pass rusher and plays the run equally well.

3rd round - Ego Ferguson (DT) LSU - Has great size and excellent quickness at the point of attack.

4th round - Logan Thomas (QB) Virginia Tech - It's only a matter of time before we pull the trigger on a QB and Thomas has all the physical capabilities to make it in the league but has yet to put it all together...he fits perfectly.

5th round - Rashad Greene (WR) Florida State - What will the boys do with Miles Austin and his hamstrings? I believe Austins days in Dallas are numbered and adding a WR with big play ability who can play the slot and outside will cushion the blow.

6th round - Spencer Long (OG) Nebraska - Solid run blocker and improved pass blocker. Will be coming off a knee injury which is the main reason he could still be available here.

7th round - Kerry Hyder (DT) Texas Tech - Slightly undersized at DT but has a burst that I think coach Rod can work with.

7th round - Cornelius Lucas (OT) Kansas State - Is a mauler at OT but needs to improve pass blocking. Poor mans Phil Loadholdt in my opinion.

*I know we have a compensatory pick coming but I wasn't sure which round. I'm assuming 3rd round so if that's the case I'd like to see us go with Jeremiah Attaochu of Georgia Tech
