Most of the teams we played have seen our playbook and have made the moves to counter it. For example, next weekend is going to be a whole different story in terms of gameplanning because the Giants have already seen our playbook and if we don’t make any adjustments, the game will end up just like the New Orleans game. Besides that, I am willing to bet that the reason why we were so successful last year was because the Dallas Cowboys threw out the playbook in the second half of games. Bill Callahan is sticking to the playbook even if it doesn’t work. Here is the reason why we won or lost our games this season and possible projections for the last few games:
Game 1: Won because of Defense
Game 2: Lost because Andy Reid knows our offense
Game 3: Won because of St. Louis’s weak defense
Game 4: Lost because the Chargers figured out our offensive gameplan
Game 5: Though we rose to the occasion, Lost because of an unbalanced throw by Tony Romo thanks to Tyron Smith blocking a would be sack.
Game 6: Won because of Special teams and defense producing very short fields, Frederick assisting on a TD was a nice touch.
Game 7: Won because Chip Kelly and the Eagles didn’t have time to figure out our offense. Also, the weather helped.
Game 8: Lost because we couldn’t capitalize on the Lions turnovers, and defense allowed Megatron to have a big day.
Game 9: Won because Minnesota choked away another game late.
Game 10: Lost because New Orleans knew our playbook, plus last years game was a blowout at the half.
Game 11 at Giants: Could lose because the Giants know of our playbook and it would be easier to run on our defense.
Game 12 vs Oakland: Could win because Dennis Allen doesn’t know our playbook.
Game 13 at Chicago: Could win because Marc Tresmen doesn’t know our playbook.
Game 14 vs Green Bay: Could lose due to the Packers knowing our playbook and a big day by Eddie Lacy.
Game 15 at Washington: Could lose due to Shanny being desperate to keep his job.
Game 16 vs Philadelphia: Could lose due to Chip Kelly’s better understanding of our playbook and the fact that there is no weather inside a dome.
At the very least, we don’t finish 8-8.
