Re-Focused: Vikings @ Cowboys - Pro Football Focus
PFF provides a topline summary of of the game, singling out Tony Romo, Sean Lee, Bruce Carter and Everette Brown for praise, while coming down hard on Doug Free's performance.

Tony Romo (+3.6) wasn’t perfect by any means, but he overcame some crucial drops and showed poise under pressure that many have questioned and got the win. He pretty much had to do it all himself, though, as they ran 57 drop-backs compared to just nine runs. [...]

Quite simply the Cowboys don’t win this game without the play of Sean Lee (+2.3) and Bruce Carter (+3.6). It felt like they were in every single hole all day long.

Jason Garrett says his relinquishing of play-calling duties has been "a good thing" for the team - Charean Williams, Star-Telegram
Garrett told reporters on Monday that giving up play-calling duties has been good for the team and for him.

"I think it’s been a good thing," Garrett said. "It’s something that we’ve tried to do since I became the head coach, coming from the coordinator position. They’re two full-time jobs, and in order to do each of them well, you have to focus on really every aspect of them. They’re only so many hours in the day, so since I became the head coach, I was always trying to delegate some of the responsibilities I had within the coordinator position and within some of the head coaching responsibilities that I had. So now I can be more focused on some of the head coaching stuff."

How the bye could impact DeMarcus Ware, Miles Austin - Todd Archer, ESPN Dallas

Bruce Carter: Reason for benching not legit, but no longer angry, resolved to do better- Clarence Hill, Star-Telegram
Bruce Carter is a little confused by the linebacker rotation that saw him yanked from the Chargers game, limited to a nickel role against the Broncos, then playing the majority of snaps the next two games, only to split time again against the Lions and being replaced as a starter against the Vikings.

"I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’m questioning myself," Carter said. "I know my talent, I know what I can do. I would say that’s entirely their decision. They’re the coaches. It’s my job to just go out there and play football when my number is called. As far as all the rotations and that stuff that’s for them. I can play at this level and be productive at it. I showed last game. I’ve never doubted myself. I’m just trying to get whatever the coaches are looking for from me to get back on the field."
