Beat Writers Report: Will Wilcox regain his starting role? - Calvin Watkins, ESPN Dallas
Watkins offers five thoughts in his weekly column, one of which is about the second safety behind Barry Church.
The Cowboys have maintained Heath's starting role, giving Wilcox defensive snaps off the bench. Wilcox is a better player yet there is a comfort level in using Heath right now as the starter. With some solid quarterbacks scheduled to face Dallas -- Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers in particular -- it might be time to place Wilcox in a starting role again because he's an improvement over Heath in pass coverage.

Shanahan’s on the ropes in Washington - The Buffalo News
Mark Gaughan points out that Mike Shanahan is 24-35 through almost four full seasons, and may not get a fifth in Washington, considering that after the game today, they host the Chiefs, travel to Atlanta, host the Cowboys and close the season in New York.
He’s one of the highest paid coaches in the league, with a salary of about $7 million a year. He’s entering the final year of his contract. NFL coaches usually are not allowed to become lame ducks. They’re often either fired or given a contract extension before the final year of their deal.
Redskins officials: RGIII feared job loss to Kirk Cousins - NFL.com
