So with all the moves they've made, they are still barely under the cap. They've let alot of guys go, which is understandable, but the roster is thin. Get past the top "stars" and the talent level drops drastically.
Romo hasn't been restructured, and when(and if) he is they will have lost out on alot of good quality free agents. Now, I know alot of people say you don't have to rush out and sign guys right away when the market opens, but I think this year is totally different. Its not a deep market, or I guess filled with marquee players. But it has alot of very good value guys, on the field as far as production and mostly in the wallet. Thats where Dallas is missing out. We're looking at 3rd tier free agents at best.
And the draft, not enough picks. Even if they hit it big with 1 or 2 picks I can't see that as enough to drastically take them from 8-8 to 10-6.
Now injuries hurt this team last year no doubt. I do think they will be better IF they can stay healthy. Problem is, you can't count on that. Back to depth, thats what hurt us. When guys went out, the guys stepping in weren't good. Some performed admirably but overall it hurt the team. And thats where this missing out on free agents will hurt. I would've loved someone like Shonn Greene backing up Murray. I said he would be perfect, others said he's near starting type player and will probably be more money than Dallas can afford. Nope, signed with Tenn for 3yrs/$10 mil as a backup.
Right now I really don't see this team being any better than last year. I hope there is a plan we are unaware of. What makes you think they will be better, or worse than last year?
