It's draft time and everybody is debating who the Cowboys and all the other teams should draft. We all know the team's needs, mainly focused on the O-and D-Lines. I would love to see us draft a guy like Cooper or Warmack and keep Tony Romo upright and blow holes so big for Murray that trucks could go through them. There's a chance, I don't know how much of a chance, that Warmack and Cooper won't be there at #18 when the Cowboys pick.
If they're not around, I'd hope that the FO drafts a big ugly along the D-Line seeing as how we have a need on there. However if they were to draft a position we aren't really thinking about, say WR, would I be upset, yes, but when you look at the fact that Miles Austin has become less and less reliable because of his health, it really wouldn't be a bad thing to have another high quality wide receiver to pair with Dez if, these days it's more like when, Austin goes down. I'm of the belief that it's never a bad thing to have too many good players at any position, because of the high injury risk. Look at last year, when Lee and Carter went down, we had to sign guys that weren't in the league at the time. There's a reason why they weren't in the league. I think that it's not elite players that separate teams, it's how teams deal with injuries and the quality of players they can plug into replace the elite players.
I'm not arguing that the Cowboys FO shouldn't target the lines, but if those players are taken before we pick, I wouldn't be against them taking the BPA at any position.
