It came to my attention that our favorite Eagles fan, JimmyK, has failed to pay up on a debt that he owes to our community. Before the start of last season, JimmyK, at his informative blog, Blogging the Beast, argued that the Cowboys should not have franchised Spencer in 2012. Among his headlines were Anthony Spencer and the franchise tag: Of 23 OLB’s in a “true 3-4″ defense, “Almost Anthony” would be my 17th choice, Can a rookie step right in and fill Anthony Spencer’s shoes?, Sunday is probably Anthony Spencer’s last regular season game as a Dallas Cowboy and my personal favorite Cowboys’ upcoming decision to franchise Anthony Spencer shows a lack of creativity in player personnel where he argued that the Cowboys should have taken a chance with either Andre Carter or Manny Lawson in 2012 rather than franchise Spencer. Those two combined for less than half of Spencer's sack total last year and almost 40 less tackles in 2012.
Now the point of this post is not to bash JimmyK, after all, who amongst us has not been wrong before? And JimmyK has made some insightful and thoughtful observations before, such as the point he made in the last article linked above, that the Cowboys would face another dilemma this year in deciding whether to franchise Spencer. What this post is about, is righting a wrong. Now JimmyK felt so confident about his belief that Anthony Spencer was a 'below average' player, that he made a bet with our very own mfoster, that should Spencer total 10 or more sacks in 2012, JimmyK would write a 500 word fanpost w/ at least 20 different adjectives glorifying our 'Boys. It's all right here. I'm sure JimmyK is an upstanding guy and he has simply forgotten about the wager. He's probably been busy with his blog, which is generally a good read btw. So I propose that we remind him of his wager. I want to see that 500 word fan post on BTB, don't you?
So let's remind him, respectfully, of course. Tweet him @Jimmy_Beast or contact him through his blog email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
