Quality not Quantity

The 2013 Draft class was the perfect model of why it is better to have quality, not quantity. The Dallas Cowboys had a total of six draft picks going into Thursday night. They ended Saturday with seven, thanks to the 49ers trade. The Cowboys had 3 picks on the third day of the draft, second lowest amongst all teams. That turned out to be a great thing.

The Dallas Cowboys, according to Mike Mayock did not draft a player with a Draft Grade less than 70.00. For those of you wondering if that is good. It is! Actually its the best in this years NFL Draft. The Cowboys averaged a whopping 77.6 but lets just round that up and call it an even 78. The second closest was the New York Jets at 75.9. They deserve the round up ( we will call it the butt fumble rule) so they come in at a 76.0. That is still a good 2 points behind the Cowboys. That is big when it comes down to percentages. The closest NFC East rival was the Eagles clocking in at 5th with an average grade of 74.8.

This is very positive and shows that Jerry might know what the hell he is doing. Give the scouts a huge round of applause. They are the reason we are going to bed tonight without resenting Jerry Jones or Stephen or Rowdy or whoever you so choose to resent for the Cowboys failures.
