This may make no sense at all, but it's not supposed to. Just an idea based on really not much, but the benefits could be oh so great. Could we play Brandon Magee, a speedy, but undersized linebacker with great intangibles from Arizona State, at safety, much like we did with Darren Woodson, a speedy, but undersized linebacker with great intangibles from Arizona State, who was a stud at safety on the Super Bowl teams of the 90's.
As I said before, this doesn't have much basis in a logical thought process, rather it's based on an illogical one that came from noticing a few similarities between the Cowboys' UDFA pickup and arguably the greatest safety to ever wear a Cowboys uniform. But what if it works?
What if Magee turns out to be a natural fit at the safety spot, bringing the wood on every play and making receivers afraid to cross the middle while using his instincts to pick off a pass every once in awhile. That would be a pretty good return on a UDFA, don't you think?
What do y'all think about trying him out there?
