QB: 2, With the OL and DL in the condition they are, I see Dallas stashing a QB on the PS to keep an extra roster spot open.
RB: 3, We have carried 4 before. But I see us going 4 TE's and dropping Vickers. Lawrence offers more upside than Dunbar.
WR: 5, I see us starting the year with 5 WR's. I think they may try to squeeze Benford onto PuP with his knee. I think by week 4 there will be 6 WR's on the roster. This is another area to keep an extra OLman until it sorts out. With Benford and Coale on PuP, Beasley keeps his #5 spot.
TE: 4, The top 3 are almost a given. The 4th spot will be a blocker. I have Cochart "holding" the spot. But I don't think he will be the 4th at the start of the season.
OT: 4, This is where we start going heavy to start the season. Free will still be here. Parnell very well could be the starter though. If that is the case. I see Weems remaining as the new swing tackle. And Free being traded if he took a pay cut. Or released if he has not.
G/C: 7, Ok I know 7 is crazy. But I don't think this position will work itself out until almost the 4th week. Dallas is going to give Leary and Arkin every chance to win a spot. I think Leary will be good enough to drop Livings off the roster. Arkin will make enough push in camp to go heavy here. Hoping with a little more work he can take Big Mac's spot a RG. Kowalski stays through all this because they are afraid to lose him if Arkin and Leary do work out, but not right away. Other than Frederick and Smith, the most comfortable guy is Cook. Mr. Utility is the 5 position game day backup.
S: 4, With Moore and Holloman making the roster, I see us keeping only 4. Church and Johnson will be the day 1 starters. I love church, but I think Wilcox will unseat him by week 6. Moore can play some FS. Holloman can play some SS in the box on certain packages.
CB: 5, This may be the one position almost everyone agrees on. With Mo and Carr as the starters, Scandrick and Webb fighting over the slot and Moore there to do it all when needed.
OLB: 4, I see Carter and Durant as the starters. I don't think Holloman has the savvy to play the SAM that Durant has. At least not this early in his career. Magee could be the backup for Carter. But there are also about 3 others that could win that position. It should be one of the best camp battles.
ILB: 2, Lee will be the best LB in the NFL if he stays healthy. Sims is cheap and fast. He may not read plays well. But he is the best option to backup Lee out of the 90 man camp squad.
DE: 5, Spencer and Ware are the obvious starters. Wilbur and Swiss Army Knife Albright will back them up. But due to Albright being played all over the field, I think Bass will be retained to play packages. Bass is a big guy with a quick first step and some great power.
DT: 5, I foresee Dallas rotating this position a ton. I'm almost willing to wager that all but Callaway end the year within 100 snaps of each other. Callaway will be the big bodied run stuffer.
K: 1, Bailey, duh, unless he gets hurt or had a hex placed on him.
P: 1, Jones, I'm only 75% on this. When he was healthy, he was good. But he has enough inexperience still that this could be a wide open position if his competition does well through OTA's and camp.
L.S.: 1, I love LaDouceur. But at a savings of $385,000, this is finally the year that Hughlett is no longer there just for camp. Hughlett was a 4 year starter at L.S. in college. He has been perfect throughout his time spent with Dallas over the last 2 seasons. If they wait much longer to grab him, he might not be there in a year or two when LaDouceur retires on his own terms.
PS: 8, I took a total guess on everyone. I think the PS will be churned more this year than ever. The only position I see as being kept up will be QB. Dallas knows they need to start to develop a QB. Might as well start with a guy on the PS.
