Hello BTB family as part my first Fanpost I would like give my take on post draft projected 53 man roster. Please comment and let me know what you guys think.
Unfortunately the Dallas Cowboys didn't see it as important to draft a development Quarterback in this year draft to be future replacement to Tony Romo, This position will remain steady with Romo and Orton as only two QB going into the season.
RUNNING BACKS (3)
Ultimately It will come down to Tanner and Dunbar for last Running back spot as Randle is penciled in as the number running back behind Murray. I believe Dunbar contribution on special teams is the difference.
WIDE RECEIVERS (5)
The Boys are loaded at young talent at this position and have difficult decision to make between some young talented guys. I believe that Beasley will win last spot if he continue to improve from last season. He will make it hard for Jason Garrett not to find place on him on this offense.
TIGHT ENDS (4)
The cowboys went into the draft with need for blocking tight end but instead decided to go with pass catching tight end Gavin Escobar. I don't believe Lawrence Vickers return so cowboys will go with B.J. Stewart as their blocking tight end/fullback.
OFFENSIVE LINEMEN (10)
I am not a fan at all of possibility of seeing Doug Free as our starting right tackle again and it seem he is now willing to take a pay cut to stay a cowboy, so I believe he will be cut and cowboys will bring in possibly Clabo or Winston to upgrade the position.
DEFENSIVE LINE (9)
The cowboys didn't address this position in the draft seeing it as an already strength of this team, let's just hope Ware Spencer and Ratliff can stay healthy or we might see have much strength the cowboys really have at this position.
The cowboys probably did more to address this position than any other on the team and have created a solid line backing corp. already lead by Lee and Carter, I am excited to see Brandon Magee a player the cowboys are excited about, I would be shocked if he doesn't make this team.
Scandrick has been put on notice and needs have big season or this might be his last if B.W. Webb can prove he can step up and become a solid slot cornerback.
Barry Church is penciled in as one or the starting safety and Cowboys hope that Matt Johnson who had his rookie season cut short by injuries can take over the other safety position. I not sold on a small school guy who has never played a down in NFL, so let hope it playmaking ability translate into success at next level.
WR Danny Coale
WR/KR Dustin Harris
WR Tim Benford
S Jakai Hamilton
RB Kendial Lawrence
It came down to Hamilton and McCray for last safety position. I went with McCray because of his importance on special team and possibility we can hide Hamilton on our practice squad team for a season.
