FanPost

Thanks BtB

I have been following this site for a few months now just joined recently. I have been a Cowboy fan my whole life. Not sure why, the star on the helmet, the sweet uniforms, the fact my grandfather looks like Tom Landry - I'm not exactly sure, it is what it is. I live in North Dakota I am supposed to be a Viqueen fan but hey, guess I was a smarter kid than my parents thought lol.

After reading "QBs and the company they keep" with the comments to follow I am compelled to write a post of thanks because it embodies everything I love about this site. Specifically how through use of stats and research OCC once again shows us the true value of Romo. Followed by the great comments of how football is a TEAM game not simply defined by having an elite QB. Bspn and the majority of the hacks over there are ruining TEAM sports for me with their constant trumpeting of and obsessing over individuals, not how a team comes together and plays together, which is why I rarely watch Sports Center any more.

It's not just them either. I read an article on NFL.com the other day and some jackass said the QB position makes up 70% of the team. WTF.

Seriously, I agree the QB is the most important individual position on the team but is it more important than a good offensive line, a good defense, good special teams? Hell no, look at the winners of the last 10 Super Bowls: did the team with the best QB win some? Maybe, but the Giants, the Ravens, the Steelers they won Super Bowls because their TEAMS played well, not just the QB.

Look at our boys of the 90's. That dynasty was incredible because every unit had talent and played well. Do you remember? God, we had great offensive and defensive lines.

So thanks again BtB keep up the great work. Let's hope our Boys can stay healthy, develop as a TEAM, keep JJ from excess meddling, and maybe the Cowboys can return to the playoffs and compete for championships like we beleaguered yet still passionate fans deserve.
