The case for 12

In my recent post, I suggested the Boyz would win 11 games. In my spate of optimism and awash in newfound valor, I would now suggest that an elite record of 12 wins is not out of the question. First, taking last years records as pre-season handicaps the Cowboys would be favored in eight games: Eagles (2), Chiefs, Rams, Chargers, Saints, Lions, Raiders. They would be small dogs in four: Skins (2) Giants (2) Dogs in 2: Vikes and Bears Big Dogs in 2 Packers and Broncos A pretty good argument could be made that if they win the games they are favored, sweep the Giants (a must), split with Washington, and upset the Vikes or Bears--voila 12 wins! Now in reality they will be upset and they will upset, that is the NFL. But, it is not too great a stretch to say they will probably be among the most improved teams based on returning injured players, favorable schedule, late bye week (have the boyz ever had a late bye week?), long training camp and additional preseason game. I personally believe getting the "Hall of Fame Game" may turn out to be the biggest factor of all for this now young team that will be putting in a totally new defense. Any way, that is my case for 12. Defense Rests. Whew! More coolaid please!
