Random Things I'd Like to See Happen in Camp

I do not believe that it can be overstated how valuable getting the "Hall of Fame Game"is to this, suddenly, very young team. Think of how injury and quirky schedules over the past few preseasons arrested if not nearly sabotaged the development of key players like Dwayne Harris, Bruce Carter, and even Dez. So, expanding on Dirk Gently's idea specifically as applies to camp and preseason, here are my desires:

  1. A tough, totally open competition for the O line. My idea would be to play every individual lineman throughout the first three preseason games, rotating them so that they would face all levels of match ups and partnering. in the fourth game, which should be the dress rehearsal, play the chosen 5 three full quarters. In the final game, when normally starters only cameo, play them another half to get as much in sync as possible. I do hope that at least one guard is supplanted, I also want to see Fredbeard at center. Remember, he is not only smart, big and nasty; he is also a very good shotgun snapper. Have we ever had that? A special bonus would be Parnell beating out Free.
  2. Now that we have Tanney, we should have quarter backs that can at least keep the ball in play in practice and late in games. We have too much talent at receiver to not get them fair and even chances for evaluation. What we do not need is say Danny Coale becoming the next Jimmy Smith.
  3. Use a rotation of the young safeties similar to the offensive linemen, so that all of them will get to work against top to bottom talent. This group excites me no end. I truly believe that what was a glaring weakness, last year - an area of real concern currently - will be one of the teams greatest strengths. Just imagine the possibility that Church finds himself on the bench, somewhere around the 10th game. Not because he is a bad player, but because he's a damn good player that gets beat out by better. Could happen!
  4. Dallas LB's and secondary get 10 picks.
  5. Ware, Spencer, Crawford, and Wilber get 10 sacks.
  6. Romo finally gets that extra half second.
  7. We go 4-1 (need to beat Cinci in the dress game) for a little mo.
  8. Speaking of Mo, 3 passes defensed, 1 sack, and one pick.
  9. 5 rushing touchdowns.
  10. No Romo sacks.
  11. 2 tight end touchdowns
  12. NO SERIOUS INJURIES
So there you have it. My wish list. How 'bout yours?
