The 6"1 1/8th 200 pound rookie who turned heads at the NFL Combine running a 4.19 40 [corrected to 4.33 at Minnesota's pro day, Sinkfield played at Kurt Warner's alma mater N. Iowa] is now a street free agent after the Packers cut him. Green Bay is one of the few teams in the league with a greater lockjam at the 5th and 6th receiver slots than Dallas, so I wouldn't say the guy can't play and only brings speed to the table. He's a lot less raw at this point in his career than training camp speedster Salim Hakim at this point was last year. While we all would like the 6th receiver if we keep one to be polished, what Sinkfield brings to the return game could give him an outside shot to beat out Jared Green or Danny Coale for that spot or land on the practice squad should Dunbar and/or Lawrence become the primary kick returner. At any rate, I hope the Scouting Dept. is calling up Sinkfield's agent this weekend before another team signs him. That might make one of the receivers we just signed off workouts this week (Tunei?) expendable.
