Garrett Provides Early Thoughts On Each 2013 Draft Selection - C. Mendez, Star-Telegram
The Cowboys' top four picks are all taking first team snaps in camp. Asked if he thought whether that was remarkable, Garrett replied that it wasn't:

"I don't find that remarkable at all," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "I think what you try to do, before you draft a player, is you try to have a vision for them. What does this guy do best? What are some of his weaknesses? What is his role in year one? What is his role in year two? What can he grow into? What is his upside?"

Garrett then proceeded to give a quick evaluation of each of the Cowboys’ seven picks, the full transcript of which you'll find in Mendez' writeup.

Local Standout Rogers Turning Heads In WR Depth Chart Battle - D. Helman, DallasCowboys.com
Helman with a nice profile of WR Eric Rogers, who is getting plenty of attention in camp after hauling in pass after pass.

"It’s nothing too special, I make catches here and there when I have opportunities, but I still have a long way to go," Rogers said. "I’ve got to learn some of the hot adjustments and stuff like that – listen to Coach Dooley, listen to the vets and try to do whatever they tell me."

Tony Romo talks his way into afternoon practice with Cowboys - D. Moore, DMN
Tony Romo was supposed to have a day off yesterday, but took part in practice anyway. QB coach Wade Wilson said the team deferred to Romo when Romo said that he was feeling fine.

Offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said he hasn’t heard of too many quarterbacks who would decline a day off in camp and said it spoke to how Romo is a true professional.

Since the emphasis Tuesday was on short yardage situations, Romo didn’t make his usual compliment [sic] of throws. The coaches also had him stay out of one or two of the individual throwing sessions. Wilson estimates the quarterback threw only 30 to 40 passes all afternoon. But that’s 30 to 40 more than Garrett and the coaching staff wanted him to throw just a few hours earlier.

Jerry Jones: No concern about Dez Bryant injury, expects him to play vs. Miami - C. Hill, Star-Telegram
Bryant has now missed four consecutive practices, but Jones remains unconcerned.

"He can take it easy right now," Jones said. "We got a lot of days left. He is likely to get snaps (against the Dolphins)…very likely. There has been no talk of him not getting snaps. It’s not a hip. It’s just a tweak. He could be out there in a minute. We are just resting it. There has not been a word of him not playing."

Dallas Cowboys will sign DE Toby Jackson - Brandon George, DMN
After working out fiour players yesterday, the Cowboys decided to sign Jackson in the wake of a groin injury to to Cameron Sheffield, who will likely miss a few weeks. Jackson (6-4, 260) was eligible for the supplemental draft this year but wasn't selected.

"Gossip Girl" and "Revenge" TV star Connor Paolo was in attendance.

50 yards, 5 throws
In a feature for the History Channel, Cowboys QB Alex Tanney was asked to show that the accuracy displayed in his trick shot video wasn't just a fluke. The result: Tanney places five successive throws within two inches of each other on a target 50 yards away. The video is a little old, but Tanney is new with the Cowboys so we're featuring it today:
