Fun with the NFL Power Rankings

You can agree or disagree as to whether power rankings are worth the paper they are written on, but since the NFL have posted their latest version, I thought we could use it to determine the supposed strength within the NFL and whether the Cowboys will have a rough ride this year.

If you simply add up the positions of each NFL team within respective divisions, then you can determine how strong/weak individual NFL divisions are (note - a higher score means a weaker division).

NFC East - 67
NFC North - 55
NFC South - 64
NFC West - 46
AFC East - 81
AFC North - 55
AFC South - 77
AFC West - 83

A few observations:

1. The AFC sucks!!
2. Philadelphia are the worst team in the NFC (guffaw!)
3. The NFC East is the worst division in the NFC (thanks a lot Philadelphia!)

With regard to the stregth of scehdule for each team in the NFC East:

Redskins - 257
Giants - 262
Feebles - 268
Cowboys - 277

A few observations:

1. The NFC East gets to play the worst division in football - AFC West
2. The Cowboys have the easiest schedule in the NFC East.
3. The Eagles would have an easier schedule if they had to play themselves - twice :)
