This not a mock draft. This is my wishlist based on what I would like to see us draft. Each pick is a player who should be there when we draft.
16 Tim Jernigan DT FSU or Rashede Hageman Minn (in that order)
48 Will Sutton DT ASU
78 Ja'Wuan James RT Tenn
115 Will Clarke DE WVU
146 Tom Savage QB Pitt
206 Tre Boston FS UNC
208 RB Tim Flanders Sam Houston St. or George Atkinson III ND or Alfred Blue LSU
215 OG Will Simmons ECUI based these pick of the cbs sports draft prospect projections. I did not draft a free safety because we haven't seen Matt Johnson and JJ Wilcox was just a rookie. I honestly don't believe that we should draft yet another safety early this soon. We need to see how good our secondary could be with continuity of having the same defense. And also with a good pass rush. We was too banged up front to know how good our secondary could be, especially considering their youth at free safety. So I drafted a free safety late to compete.
I would love it if we pulled a Carolina Panthers and took 2 straight DT's in the first 2 rounds. Jernigan & Sutton would give us 2 4-3 playmaking DT's. James could give us flexibilty with Free who has not been great RT. Clarke is a beast DE if we lose Ware & Spencer. We could pair him with Selvie & Crawford for DE rotation. Tom Savage has a rocket arm bigtime sleeper at QB. Tre Boston is a poor man's Ed Reed. Roamer with good hands. Fanders is a Emmitt Smith/Tashard Choice type. Rushed for 170 yards playing for Sam Houston St. vs Texas A&M. Atkinson is a faster Demarco Murray but not as physical. Blue is as physical but injury prone. Big Upside. Will Simmons is 2 time Con USA RG. I picked him purely based on size 6'5" 329 and reputation as a run blocker. He has been a consistently good player for 3 years (Outland watch list at ECU).
Again, every player should be available (according cbs sports)at each draft position. You can see them all on youtube except Simmons. Tell me what you think. BTW, I don't like the Donald from Pitt. I think he's too small. That's why I didn't put him on the list.
