The more and more I think about pick #16, the more I want Dallas Cowboys to pick the best safety or trade down. Stud edge rushers Clowney and Barr will be long gone by 16. I'm not sold on Aaron Donald just yet. At 16, I really like Ha'sean Clinton-Dix. I would prefer picking Clinton-Dix over Donald. This guy is a playmaker. He plays the ball in the air and can tackle. He just seems to be around the ball all the time. I'd rather see Cowboys pick him up and go hard after DL in the second and later rounds. Top safety picks Earl Thomas, Eric Berry andMark Barron just seem to add a different dimension to the defense that I'd like to see on Dallas.
Tell me you would not want to see 16-Clinton-Dix and at 47-Trent Murphy, Timmy Jernigan, Dee Ford, Kony Ealy or Scott Crichton. Now I know some of you would like to see a mix of those DL's at 16 & 47. I agree that would be good too. There's a lot of quality DL's in the draft. But that is why I would prefer to trade down and pick up an additional pick. Jernigan, Ford and Ealy (maybe even Donald) could be had in the 20's. I say if not Clinton-Dix at 16, then trade down. By trading down, we still get a DL we covet and another pick to add in other areas.
