Should Dallas take a chance on troubled Justin Blackmon?

After the 2nd round came to an end it became clear to me that Justin Blackmon was no longer a part of the plan for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After hearing the comments of the Jags GM and Head Coach Blackmons days in Jacksonville are all but over and in all honesty that is the way it should be.

Why we should say No

Before Blackmon even set foot on an NFL field he'd already had multiple run ins with the law starting with a DUI arrest in 2010 and again in 2012 for which he was subsequently suspended. Blackmon was able to return during the 2013 season and was the most productive player in the league before falling back into trouble and suspended again for the remainder of the Jaguars 2013 season. Blackmon is eligible for reinstatement for the 2014 season and it is a strong possibility that he will be cut by the Jags being they have an out to end his contract and pay him nothing more. I can already here the he's not RKG speeches going.

Why we should take a chance

If Blackmon is reinstated by the league he will most likely be hitting the market with few teams willing to take a risk on the talented yet troubled receiver meaning contract demands will be low. Dallas can provide an incentive laden contract giving Justin an opportunity to be apart of the league with minimal risk to the team financially. Another key to Blackmon's success in Dallas is a strong support system from his Oklahoma state brotherhood. The cowboys currently have 5 former Okies and teammates of Blackmon in Dez, Orie Lemon, Joe Randle, Dan Bailey and Blackmons QB Brandon Weeden. Much like with Tyrann Mathieu in AZ surrounding a player with a troubled past with guys whom he is comfortable with and can keep him focused on the prize would be a huge benefit to keeping Blackmon out of trouble and add team leaders like Witten, Tyron and Romo he will have a better support system than a young Jacksonville team could offer.

In my opinion Blackmon is the epitome of risk/reward because it's clear the talent is there if you can keep him on the field. I think Dallas is the best equipped team to handle Justin and all that he brings and IF (and this is the biggest part of the equation) Justin has sought the help that he needs Blackmon could have a Hamilton like career resurgence to benefit another Metroplex franchise...
