Jason Garrett Was Right About Conditioning Tests

Seems like the topic of conditioning tests have been on many people’s minds as of late. Of course Jason Witten calling for a test to be done in the Texas heat before they headed out to Oxnard, California. Witten being the leader that he is wanted this to get done and 75 out of the 90 players on the roster were there to accommodate his request.

Then fast forward to yesterday when owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett addressed the media for their "State of the team" address. Garrett mentioned that the team wouldn't be doing the traditional conditioning tests to kick off training camp. Many people were scratching their heads with this new philosophy.

Garrett stated "I feel like it’s a recipe for disaster. We’ve had some issues in the past year. I know teams around the league have had that, so I just told our players that we’re not going to do that."

Maybe there was something to this. Earlier today it was reported that Ravens cornerback Aaron Ross tore his Achilles during his conditioning test and will miss the entire season. Maybe by Garrett foregoing the tests that more teams around the league will start to forego them as well. With this team and the way injuries stack up, looks like they are off to a good start.
